BLUE PETER PRESENTER RADZI CHINYANGANYA TO APPEAR AT BODYPOWER EXPO
BodyPower Expo, one of the largest sport, fitness and nutrition events in the world, has added yet another famous face to its roster of celebrities, with the news that Blue Peter presenter and fitness buff Radzi Chinyanganya will be making an appearance.
The event will take place from 15thto 17thMay 2015 at Birmingham’s NEC. As many as 70,000 fitness fans will flock to the venue to get inspired, motivated, and meet some of the faces behind the leading brands within the industry.
Chinyanganya has been a BodyPower regular since the event’s inception in 2009 – where he entered a ‘strength competition’ with Mariusz Pudzianowski himself. The presenter will join celebrities including Hulk Hogan, Calum Best, Lorraine Pascale and a plethora of Commonwealth and Olympic athletes at BodyPower, which is now a staple fixture on the international fitness scene.
Chinyanganya says, “I have been going to the BodyPower Expo events since they first launched back in 2009 – I couldn’t be more excited about the upcoming event, and having the chance to see some of the best physiques in the world!”
As well as presenting some of the UK’s most-watched children’s TV shows, Chinyanganya is a self-confessed adrenaline junkie with an impressive list of achievements to his name. After graduating from Loughborough University, Radzi competed at a national level in karate and achieved a top-ten finish at the 2011 GB Skeleton Bobsleigh Trials. As part of his duties as a Blue Peter presenter, he has swam across Lake Windermere, scaled a 2,126 foot high slate mine in Cumbria, and raced 1.5km on a home-made bike with his fellow presenters.
Radzi has another claim to fame - reaching the semi-final of hit TV show, Gladiators, where he was the only contestant in history to attempt the famous ‘Eliminator’ wearing a swimming cap! His role within sporting media was amplified even further than he was selected as the official presenter for the BBC’s coverage of weightlifting at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The core theme of BodyPower Expo is fitness, and the show has increased in diversity in recent years, with expansion into the realms of nutrition, female-focussed fitness and even keeping kids fit and healthy. As a Blue Peter presenter, Chinyanganya feels it’s crucial to get kids interested in fitness from an early age, and this year’s BodyPower Expo will feature a number of stands and workshops revolving around just that.
He says, “I work with a lot of young people as part of my role as a Blue Peter presenter, and I love to see them being active. Too many kids nowadays get their thrills from video games and computer screens – I want to show them that they can have real-life experiences which will surpass anything they could do on a computer!”
BodyPower Expo will be host a colossal selection of leading fitness brands, with stands occupying more than half a million square foot of space within Birmingham’s NEC. The exhibition expands year on year, and 2015 is expected to be the biggest and most exciting year yet for the industry’s most highly anticipated event.
