Boutique Law Firm Launches Publication for Start-Ups and Entrepreneurs
Launching a start-up is made markedly easier this year with the debut of a sector focussed quarterly magazine from leading London law firm, Buckworth Solicitors. Available in print and digital form, StartUp Roar offers readers valuable insider information on a wide range of start-up topics and valuable advice from the experts.
With the latest figures from StartUp Britain revealing that London is the UK’s start-up powerhouse, the unique magazine is set to emerge as a must read publication for any entrepreneur launching a business in the thriving capital.
Michael Buckworth, Partner of Buckworth Solicitors explains, “Start-up businesses need more than just legal advice. Our approach is to share our extensive experience and resources to guide and support our clients as they develop. This goes far beyond the traditional ambit of the lawyer into much broader business consultancy.”
Headquartered in London, Buckworth Solicitors specialises in start-up enterprises. The firm was founded in 2011 and remains London’s only legal practice catering exclusively to the start-up sector. Using a blend of business consultancy-style services and traditional legal advice, the firm has quickly earned itself a reputation as a pro-active and modern provider. It currently provides services to over 500 clients, with a focus on early seed stage start-ups to VC stage and exit enterprises.
Written to enlighten and inform, StartUp Roar aims to showcase UK start-ups and provide perspectives on relevant legal, tax, accounting, tech and business topics. The firm hopes that it will encourage start-ups and entrepreneurs to develop an enhanced understanding of the multifaceted sector.
Mike Edwards, Founder of DIY Doctor and reader of StartUp Roar said, “StartUp Roar has provided us with the perfect medium to connect with other entrepreneurs. It is fantastic to work with a law firm who are innovative, entrepreneurial and go out of their way to help their clients win business and build profile.”
Colourful, graphic rich and engineered to engage, the magazine shuns the conventions of text based content and replaces them with utterly readable content.
The latest issue was titled ‘The Finance Edition’ and offered readers a comprehensive overview of monetary related matters. This included common sources of investment for start-ups, the tax relief schemes available to start-up investors and a summary on government grants available from the Technology Strategy Board.
It also featured a series of guest contributions from some of the sector’s most well respected names. Bryan Kemsley from McCabe Ford William contributed an article on Research and Development tax relief and Patent Box tax relief, both of which are hugely valuable to tech start-ups. Chris Hancock, founder of new crowdfunding platform, Crowd2Fund also lent his expertise, explaining the origins and importance of crowdfunding in the start-up ecosystem.
Miles Alexander, Editor of StartUp Roar said, “Being an entrepreneur can be a lonely experience at times. Our aim in publishing StartUp Roar is to share experiences and success and encourage entrepreneurs to reach out to each other.”
The next edition is set to be published in March 2015 and will feature a wealth of start-up related content. Confirmed articles include an overview of London’s best co-working spaces for start-ups as well as an explanation of how foreign-based businesses can re-domicile to British shores.
For readers that simply can’t get enough of StartUp Roar the website also hosts a blog which is regularly updated in-between issues.
