Care UK Sells Home Care Division - IQTimecard Examines Repercussions For Home Care Industry
Care UK – one of the leading independent providers of NHS services, has sold its domiciliary care service to Mears Group for a reported £11.3m in a move that will affect around 13,000 clients and 6,000 staff across the country.
The sale comes as a result of ‘particularly poor results in certain regions’, and the pressure will now fall on the team at Mears Group to provide a higher standard of service for those individuals relying on this domiciliary care provision.
IQTimecard, one of the country’s leading remote workforce monitoring solutions, has already brought about great financial savings and increased service standards for a number of home care services. The team believe an overhaul of many in-house processes at Care UK will need to carried out in order to achieve the service targets set by the new owners.
With robust worker monitoring systems, full integration with payroll solutions and the ability to flexibly schedule and manage rotas, IQTimecard has proven an invaluable tool for many workplaces within the domiciliary care industry – and it could just be the key to saving money and boosting service levels for clients of the new Mears Group offering.
David Lynes, Director of IQTimecard, says, “The news that Mears Group have bought Care UK’s home care service will hopefully mean better standards for existing and new clients of the company. This has the potential to be a very positive outcome for one of the largest providers of home care in the country – as long as steps are taken to increase efficiency, save money and boost the standard of service that clients are receiving in their homes.”
He adds, “IQTimecard has already proven itself to be a great resource for home care providers, with celebrated companies like Home Instead using the solution at more than 100 of their franchises across the country. Managers can get a grip of things like time theft and payroll issues easily, as well as being able to schedule and manage staff rotas and check that appointments are being kept when workers are operating remotely.”
As well as offering effective monitoring of remote staff, IQTimecard can perform the tasks of several HR staff, freeing up time for existing employees to focus on bettering the service in other ways. Rather than spending their time inputting data from paper timesheets, which has the potential to be full of errors, everything is taken care of automatically, for a more streamlined and efficient process that ultimately benefits the end user.
