ConsortiQ welcomes exciting investment: partnership with Diplomat Freight Services announced
UK based drone training provider ConsortiQ is set to expand its global presence as a large investment is announced. Although the full amount is undisclosed, a deal believed to be in excess of $1m sees the drone training experts partner with US-based multi-platform logistics provider Diplomat Freight Services (DFS).
ConsortiQ was formed out of a merger of consultancy UAViate, aerial filming specialists Cloud 12 and CAA approved NQE UAVAir in 2015. With an executive team including a former Air Traffic professional, three airline captains, a senior first officer and a remote pilot, together they deliver the nation’s most thorough and trusted drone training and consultancy services. DFS, based out of Annapolis, Maryland, specialise in rapid deployment logistics for disaster, aid, and relief supply and support and currently hold a 333 exemption. Combining the services and opportunities that both companies provide, the recent investment is a forward thinking business move by both parties that will be welcomed within the industry.
ConsortiQ will be launching their entry into the US market with a Drone Awareness event at their new training facility in Winchester, Virginia.
John Rodenhouse, CEO at Diplomat commented “ConsortiQ have a unique business offering in the quality of the training they provide and the bespoke services on offer. We are really excited about what the future holds for this corporate drone training company, and we look forward to offering their services overseas to our existing clients.”
In a little over 18 months since the merger ConsortiQ, a CAA approved NQE, has quickly built a strong reputation as a premier drone training academy. Going beyond the standard regulatory training requirements, they specialise in assisting organisations to establish drone operations in-house; offering training, bespoke syllabus design, procurement, operations management, risk analysis and compliance. The partnership with DFS isn’t their first venture overseas, as ConsortiQ are the exclusive training sponsor at the Drones Middle East show in September in Abu Dhabi.
Paul Rigby, CEO at ConsortiQ added "There is a great synergy between ConsortiQ and DFS so we are looking forward to working closely with a company so well established in the aviation industry. We currently work with many blue light organisations that come to us for assistance in implementing drone operations. We look forward to now being able to export these services worldwide.”

ConsortiQ Ltd was incorporated in March 2015 bringing together three leading drone companies and six dynamic individuals. With a history of pioneering safety cases for multi-million dollar US movie productions, filming high profile music videos and with innovative approaches to regulatory training; ConsortiQ leveraged the capabilities and knowledge by merging UAViate Ltd, Cloud12 Ltd and UAV Airways Ltd. ConsortiQ still retain the original brands as ‘shop fronts’ and trading names although they have been wholly subsumed into ConsortiQ Ltd.
