Field Off Festival Stress with Luxury Living Portobello Tents

Festival-goers fed up with ‘roughing it’ can take a leaf out of the celebrities’ book and treat themselves to a piece of serious glamping this year - thanks to upmarket British company Portobello Tents.

The Hertfordshire-based team have produced a range of inspiring canvas accommodation which they are convinced will prove just as huge a hit as the musical entertainment.

Their ethically-sourced canvas tents promise to provide a boutique experience for anyone heading to a field or outdoor event over the coming months. That’s because the interiors of their luxury five metre wide diameter sandstone bell tents boast the likes of hardwood beds with memory foam mattresses, 200 thread count bed linen, clothing rails, tables & chairs, a vanity mirror and even lockable doors to ensure contents are safe.

Portobello Tents offer four luxury options - bronze, silver and gold in the five meter Bell Tents, and a VIP option with the five meter Lotus Belle Tents -  less a traditional tent, more a canvas oasis. The Lotus Belle, a popular honeymoon option, includes scatter cushions, magazines, flowers and even branded sweets on the bedside table. All tents have four bed layout choices to accommodate couples, friends and families.

Founder Laura Audley came up with the concept of luxury camping accommodation following a career in interior design, having personally experienced one too many ruined festivals through poor temporary living arrangements.

“Just because you’re at a festival it doesn’t mean you have to live in muddy conditions in a damp and cramped tent for days on end,” she said. “Festival tickets cost a lot of money these days, so why let the experience be ruined through dreading your sleeping and living arrangements?

“What we’re offering those who rent our tents is a four or five star boutique hotel experience, in a field.”

In addition to providing stunning festival accommodation, Portobello Tents also supply stretch tents for large events such as conferences and weddings. Their sister company Bassline Productions, meanwhile, offer professional lighting, audio, design and event management expertise.

Portobello Tents’ ethos is exploring luxury. The stretch tents add to the external aesthetics of an event, and are available in a range of sizes - brand new each season - ensuring freshness.

Laura added: “We’ve been delighted at the response we’ve been receiving since we launched Portobello Tents, but we’re not really that surprised.

“We were aware of a demand for luxury accommodation in the outdoors. It was simply a matter of supplying exactly that, and in such a managed way that those who rent our tents can simply sit back, relax and enjoy their event without worrying about the state of their sleeping arrangements and privacy.”
