Iconic Red Carpet Royalty Joins Multi Billboard Award Winning Singer on Cannes Fashion Festival Catwalk
Red carpets are set to be graced by fashion deities this month as the French Riviera plays host to the inaugural Cannes Fashion Festival. Self-taught prodigy Michael Costello, luxury fashion house Mikael D, family fashion house MTCostello and audacious design duo Falguni and Shane Peacock are the latest high profile names to join what’s set to emerge as the next big thing in global fashion events. Fashionistas will also experience live music on the catwalk from Latin pop sensation and multi-platinum recording artist Lucenzo.
Hailing from the City of Angels, Michael Costello is celebrated as one of America’s most coveted stylists to the stars. He’s been designing couture since the age of 14 and has now built up a global fashion empire, fuelled by a fierce spell on wildly popular US reality show, Project Runway. Looks are inspired by an elegant yet sexy aesthetic which has stolen the hearts of Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Arianna Grande, Lady Gaga, Salma Hayek, Paris Hilton and many more. Every piece is crafted with the intention of making women feel beautiful, and bringing a sleek, sexy and modern silhouette back to the forefront of the fashion world.
Costello will also be showcasing his second brand, MTCostello, with pieces designed by Michael and Stephanie Costello. While Michael Costello’s collection is described as classic, MTCostello is more daring and extreme, aiming to stand out from the crowd. From the Oscars to the Grammys, MTCostello’s creations are well acquainted with red carpets across the globe and have been worn by the likes of Kim Kardashian and Britney Spears among many others.
Joining the Costellos will be pioneering Canadian designer, Mikael D. His collections are inspired by a myriad of intertwining cultural influences from around the world, with each piece radiating energy, bravery and a strong sense of identity. His first haute couture collection was a magnificent tribute to the female silhouette, and led to the securing of stockists such as Neiman Marcus, Harvey Nichols, Saks Fifth Avenue, Holt Renfrew and more. His work steals the spotlight wherever it goes, with starlets such as Halle Berry, Mariah Carey, Shakira, Kylie Minogue and a host of other celebrities choosing to step out in the exquisite craftsmanship of Mikael D.
Design duo Falguni and Shane Peacock will be ruffling feathers on the red carpet, showcasing its latest line of luxury pieces. Daring, glamorous and utterly impractical, the label has crystallised its reputation as one of the hottest names in contemporary haute couture. Pieces are all about immersing both wearers and viewers in an ‘other worldly’ experience that blurs the line between fantasy and reality. From Fergie, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Nicole Scherzinger and Britney Spears, Falguni and Shane Peacock is an institution with Hollywood’s most sought after A-listers.
Multi Billboard award winning singer/songwriter Lucenzo, composer and singer of one of the largest selling Latin singles “Danza Kuduro” with over 700 million YouTube views to date, will serenade the models with a live performance of some of his hits.
Covering the flock of design divinities will be a troupe of more than 100 journalists accredited from 42 media outlets across 11 countries. 27 fashion bloggers representing six different countries will also be at the ready to cover all the red carpet action of the Cannes Fashion Festival.
