Jedidiah’s Place Retails in London’s Africa Fashion Week Concession Store
It’s an exciting month for Nigerian fashion accessories company Jedidiah’s Place, as it launches a range in the Red Dress Store, London. The pop-up concession store is a boutique in partnership with Africa Fashion Week London, held in August 2014. As one of 15 chosen African concession designers, Jedidiah’s Place will be showcasing its vibrant bags and jewellery in the Oxford Street store until 31st January 2015.
The AFWL concession store acts as a celebration of African design talent, and has been set up to support African fashion entrepreneurs and designers of the future. Located in the renowned Oxford Street plaza, the pop-up concession in the Red Dress store retails exclusive products adorning authentic tribal prints and unique designs.
As the hottest new fashion brand in Lagos, Jedidiah’s Place is a perfect example of up and coming African talent in the world fashion arena. Specialising in handmade leather goods such as handbags and unique semi-precious jewellery, 2015 will see the brand expand into soft furnishings and home décor accessories.
Oluwatosin Lewis, Founder of Jedidiah’s Place said, “I am absolutely thrilled to be given this opportunity by Africa Fashion Week London and can’t wait to see my products on shelves. Until now Jedidiah has been an online business with virtual shops and boutiques, selling to customers across the globe, so it is incredibly exciting to see my fashion accessories - with roots in Nigeria - on sale in London’s infamous West End.”
Ms Lewis has been handcrafting accessories using genuine leather and semi-precious stones such as agate, pearls and amethyst for five years. She has a diploma in jewellery design and repair, a certificate in textiles creative techniques and was privately tutored in leather handbag design and creation in the UK by Katherine Pogson. Ms Lewis has a passion for creating stylish accessories embellished with mosaics and using Ankara print designs.
During the retail period at AFWL concession store, Jedidiah’s Place will be retailing an exclusive range including elegant leather handbags and laptop cases, lace clutch bags and leather phone pouches. Many of the items are on offer, with sale prices starting at £28 and reaching to £192 for the larger genuine leather bags.
