Melbourne Cook Launches Unique Italian Cooking Classes in Heart Of The City

Melbournian taste buds are set to be tantalised with the launch of a brand new Italian cooking school overseen by Italian born cook, Sandra Del Greco. Driven by a passion to teach “the Italian art of eating well,” Sandra was inspired to share her love of Italian regional food and offer her guests exclusive insight into the delights of the wildly popular cuisine. Informal, entertaining and utterly delicious, the range of La Cucina di Sandra classes have already received rave reviews from Melbourne foodies across the city.

Sandra said, “During my classes, I aim to deliver a true appreciation of how to buy ingredients, follow recipes and enjoy Italian food in an atmosphere that will make the experience feel like a short holiday to Italy. From the comfort of my own home, I treat students to detailed demonstrations, lively Italian music, captivating conversation and an exquisite sit down meal that captures the essence of the age old Italian saying, Il mangiar bene e’ un’arte.”

Melbourne’s love affair with Italian cuisine runs deep, the cosmopolitan Australian city boasting a strong Italian heritage that dates back to the days of early settlement. While a number of Italian cooking classes are currently in operation, none offer the friendly atmosphere, personalised experience and amazing value for money of La Cucina di Sandra.

Blending the social enjoyment of a dinner party with the information rich content of an educational class, La Cucina di Sandra adds a unique twist to conventional cookery school classes. Guests are warmly welcomed into Sandra’s home where they enjoy homemade finger food, a mouth-watering three course meal and complimentary glass of wine. Each course will be prepared, cooked and served as part of an interactive demonstration, while guests will also receive a full set of recipes for each featured dish.

Classes for the months of August and September have now been released and include a huge selection of mouth-watering Italian themes. From unravelling the many faces of gnocchi and the culinary delights of Naples to exploring the sophisticated flavours of Sicily and the secrets of Sandra’s nonna’s traditional recipes, guests are promised authenticity, flavour and a whole lot of fun.

Sandra said “La Cucina di Sandra is all about rejoicing in everyday delights and learning the art of eating and enjoying life the Italian way. This means celebrating around a convivial table and sharing original Italian food made with simple yet high quality ingredients. When guests leave my classes, I aim to make them feel enriched and confident to cook the dishes themselves.”

Classes are held at Sandra’s European inspired home, also known as La Cucina di Sandra. The house is located in the inner city suburb of Richmond, a popular Melbourne area which has long been celebrated for its multicultural food scene.

La Cucina di Sandra classes cater for a minimum of four to a maximum of eight people. Classes commence at 6.30pm and conclude by 10.30pm.
