NEW POLL FINDS GLASGOW IS THE UK’S MOST HONEST CITY WHEN IT COMES TO ADMITTING COSMETIC SURGERY
Londoners were least likely to own up to going under the knife to a partner or significant other
Glasgow is the UK’s most honest city when it comes to admitting to having cosmetic surgery done, with residents most likely to tell their partner a truth about cosmetic enhancements according to a new survey by The Good Surgeon Guide who surveyed people enquiring about Liposuction at the six branches of the private clinic.
The poll found that Londoners were the least likely to disclose going under the knife to a partner. Manchester fared little better with few willing to tell their partners or significant others that they’d had cosmetic surgery.
The truth test was carried out by The Good Surgeon Guide and The Private Clinic in order to gauge attitudes towards noticeable procedures such as liposuction, breast enlargement, and rhinoplasty surgical procedures such as botox, breast implants and liposuction.
More than 200 patients from cities around the country were asked if they would be honest with a partner about any enhancements, when enquiring about liposuction as part of their New Year’s resolutions. The results were then ranked according to those who said they would own up, and those who would rather avoid the conversation or lie about any procedures carried out.
Christiana Clogg, Managing Director at The Good Surgeon Guide said, “We were fascinated by the results of this poll which show that attitudes and openness about cosmetic surgery vary from region to region. The results show that there is no real north south divide, with Glaswegians most likely to admit to surgery but Londoners in the south least likely. In contrast, those from Bristol were almost as open in their attitudes as Glasgow, while Manchester was more closely aligned with London.
“It’s clear that for many, cosmetic surgery is still a private and personal choice and not something that a partner should necessarily know about. This is often the case with smaller procedures like liposuction and fillers.”
