Pi day, Einstein’s birthday & The 3rd National Mathematics Teachers Conference this weekend in Birmingham

With national Pi day, Einstein’s birthday and The 3rd National Mathematics Teachers Conference all on Saturday 14th March 2015 - it’s a festival of all things mathematical, with over 99% of delegates attending are current practitioners within the mathematics teaching profession, including senior leaders, head teachers and teachers within primary, secondary and higher education, as well as local authority representatives. Over 600 delegates from across the UK will converge on Aston University in Birmingham for the largest event of its type in the UK.

The packed programme includes workshops led by inspirational educators such as Johnny Ball (BAFTA award winning presenter – “Think of a Number”) and Craig Barton (mrbartonmaths.com). Speakers include Dr Vannessa Pittard who will provide an update from the DfE. Naturally, leading educational suppliers will exhibit throughout the event. As a mathematical constant there will be the usual Maths Cake Competition and, being Pi day, there will be lots more to digest!

Remarkably, registration is completely free to this event and includes opportunities to network, take part in a treasure hunt and win an iPad, lunch and beverages throughout the day.
