Studio Film School Opens New Chelsea Branch for Summer Workshops
Studio Film School, one of the UK’s leading providers of filmmaking workshops for children, has expanded into the Chelsea area of London. To celebrate the new site, a Summer Film Shoot week will be running from 27th-31st July, a perfect opportunity to combine creativity with summer childcare.
The Chelsea academy, located on Burnaby Street, joins Studio Film School’s other locations including Balham, Hampstead and Highgate & Muswell Hill. Each centre will run a Summer Film Shoot on different dates throughout the summer holidays. Children and teenagers will experience five action-packed days of filmmaking, starting from £245.
Dan Farrell, Director of Studio Film School said, “We are so excited to announce the launch of another centre, in the prestigious area of Chelsea. We are now reaching all over London, and it won’t be long until we branch out and start offering our filmmaking workshops all over the UK. Summer Film Shoots tend to get booked up very quickly, so even though we have an extra one this year, it’s important to book ahead to avoid disappointment.”
Over the course of the week children make their own film completely from scratch, using their imaginations to come up with ideas, then acting in and producing their films - doing all the practical directing, camera operation, crewing, as well as performing in the film too. The finished films are then screened in their own special West End red carpet premiere at the Curzon Soho in September. Suitable for ages 7-18, the holiday workshop is great for making new friends, building team work skills and confidence, as well as helping to develop creativity in a fun and friendly environment.
Following the Summer Film Shoot, the new Chelsea academy will then offer Saturday workshops starting in the new school year in September. This means any keen filmmakers who enjoyed the holiday workshops and would like to develop their filmmaking skills further, can do for the rest of the year each weekend.
In addition to Saturday filmmaking workshops and the Summer Film Shoots and other holiday projects, Studio Film School also offers Make a Movie birthday parties and works with London schools to encourage creativity and provide a fun way of learning new skills.
