DATATAG SUPPORT POLICE IN OULTON PARK SECURITY EVENT

Motorcycle theft is still an issue which blights the motorcycle industry and the Police want to highlight the issue to riders at this weekend’s MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship event at Oulton Park in Cheshire.

Motorcycle theft is still an issue which blights the motorcycle industry – albeit less so with the introduction in 2012 of the MASTER Security Scheme – and the Police are wanting to highlight the issue to riders at this weekend’s MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship event at Oulton Park in Cheshire.

Joining the Police is the leading supplier of security marking technologies and the power behind the MASTER Security Scheme, Datatag.  Their staff, in conjunction with the police, will be promoting general security awareness and advising riders of the technologies fitted to their bikes during this weekend's event.  This is the third such event held and response from bikers has been overwhelmingly positive.

The Datatag team will be handing out information offering advice on the effective MASTER Security Scheme, fitted free by dealers to new bikes and which helps to combat bike theft and also sharing generic motorcycle security advice.

Datatag will also be scanning parked bikes with MASTER or Datatag fitted, and checking for any stolen bikes, supported by uniformed police officers.

The Datatag motorcycle identification system has now been in use since April 1992 and there are currently over 500,000 motorcycles protected by Datatag technology in the UK.
