Hanover, DE November 18, 2016.  The DeLaval cleaning analysis DCA, one of the official EuroTier 2016 silver medal winners, has also been awarded “Innovation of the Year 2017” in the category of milking technology. This prize is awarded by European publications of the DLV German Agriculture publishing Group.

“We are honoured that our DeLaval Cleaning Analysis is being recognised as an innovative solution that we can provide to our customers to ensure their milk quality and overall food safety,” says Joakim Rosengren, President and CEO, DeLaval. “Having received this award for the third time, it further encourages us to stay on this path of relentless innovation so that we can provide a sustainable future for dairy farming.

DeLaval has been selected for this award previously in 2011 for DeLaval automatic milking rotary AMR™, and in 2014 for DeLaval Clover liner™.

DeLaval DCA is a tool to determine effectiveness and efficiency of mechanical (slugs) and thermal processes during cleaning in milking machines. Its innovation lies in an algorithm that automates the way slugs in the milk line are analysed. By evaluating the mechanical and thermal processes of the cleaning of a milking machine, DeLaval DCA improves the cleaning procedures before problems appear, securing optimal cleaning results at all times.

“The precise and fine-tuned mechanical and thermal processes during the cleaning procedure are of utmost significance for unimpaired milk quality,” says Martina Dadomo, Product Specialist at DeLaval. “Appropriate shear stress at the pipe wall needs to be obtained safeguarding proper cleaning performance and efficient usage of valuable resources like heated water, detergent and time. Your milk deserves it.”
