Diaverum acquires two clinics in Brazil, and enters the largest country in Latin America

Diaverum creates a strong presence from the start through the acquisition of the two clinics in Ameng and Clinese. 900 patients will be treated in the clinics and the number is expected to grow. 

SAO PAULO/GOTHENBURG, (January 31st, 2018) - Diaverum, one of the leading renal care providers worldwide, announce the acquisition of two dialysis treatment centres in the States of Sao Paulo and Sergipe, respectively.

With these two acquisitions Diaverum will treat 900 dialysis patients on the Brazilian market and aims to expand further during 2018. Both Ameneg and Clinese have impressive numbers of Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients, of the 900 patients, 200 are PD patients; 700 are hemodialysis (HD) patients. As a part of the Clinese acquisition, an acute center - Senefro - was acquired in the city of Aracaju. Diaverum will perform more than 13,000 acute treatments per year.

Rafael Romanini has been recruited to the position as Country Managing Director in Brazil. Mr Romanini’s responsibilities will be to lead and continue to grow the business in Brazil and to integrate the newly acquired clinics in northeast Brazil and Sao Paulo.
