Natural & Organic Products Europe opens this weekend!
Returning to London’s Olympia on Sunday 3 April to Monday 4 April, Europe’s leading annual trade show for natural and organic products looks set for record crowds this weekend, as over 8000 visitors prepare to attend Natural & Organic Products Europe 2011.
Commenting on this year’s event, Carsten Holm, Managing Director of the show’s organiser Diversified Business Communications UK, said: “Despite the challenging climate, I sense that consumers are embracing the idea of a healthy and sustainable lifestyle in greater numbers than ever, which is reflected in record pre-registration numbers. This really is shaping up to be our best event ever, with more innovation, more new companies and more product launches than we have ever seen. It’s going to be quite a show!”
With over a fifth of the show’s 500 plus exhibitors appearing for the first time, and many returning exhibitors having already announced new launches to coincide with the event, visitors will have access to 1000’s of new natural, organic, biodynamic, fair trade and sustainable products across all categories – including food and drink, beauty and spa, sports nutrition, functional foods, VMS and herbals.
More show firsts include no less than seven new pavilions – including pavilions from FoodLovers Britain and the Organic Trade Board (OTB), plus international pavilions from Thailand, Latvia, Organics Brasil, Nicaragua-Honduras and Sud de France.
As in previous years, lively Keynote sessions will run alongside the central exhibition on both days. Notable show highlights on Sunday 3 April include seminars from Patrick Holford, Dr Mark Atkinson and Dr Marilyn Glenville (starting at 11.30am, 1.45pm and 2.45pm respectively). While Monday 4 April sees a special ‘trade’ presentation of this year’s Soil Association Organic Market Report (starting at 11am), plus an exclusive live interview with Patrick Holden – the former director of the Soil Association – discussing his commitment to ensuring a sustainable future for food and farming (2-3pm).
Dale Pinnock, Barny Haughton and Geetie Singh (MBE) will also be hosting demonstrations in the show’s new Natural Food Kitchen (starting at 12:15 on Sunday, and 12.15pm and 3pm on Monday respectively).
The Natural Beauty & Spa Theatre, sponsored by Kinetic Natural Products Distributor and JASON, will feature top beauty experts including Claire Braithwaite from LoveLula.com (on Sunday 3 April at 4pm), Michael Bronner, vice president of Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps, and Jo Fairley and Sarah Stacey, co-authors of the best selling Beauty Bible series of books (on Monday 4 April, at 1pm and 3.30pm respectively).
The Natural and Organic Awards, hosted by Natural Products magazine and the Soil Association, are also to be announced at a special ceremony after the close of the first day of the show at Olympia Conference Centre. These prestigious awards recognise the standout brands and products of the year and will be presented by big names from the industry, and a host of special guests; including ethical fashion designer Katharine Hamnett (in association with GOTS) – and West End star Adam Garcia (in association with mune).
Admission is free for pre-registered trade visitors and £20 on the day. Free registration closes at midnight tomorrow night (2 April). To register, please visit www.naturalproducts.co.uk.
