Natural and Organic Industries unite for a fantastic show!
Over 7,585 natural and organic industry professionals were out in force over 3-4 April, as London Olympia's spectacular Grand Hall was transformed into a vibrant showcase of the very best in natural and organic products at the 15th Natural & Organic Products Europe.
The UK's only natural and organic trade event, Natural & Organic Products Europe's 500 plus exhibitors were joined by thousands of leading independent health store retailers, wholesalers and distributors, supermarket and multiple buyers, plus specialist and organic shop owners from all across the UK. This year's show also attracted a large contingent of international buyers from over 60 countries.
The event's director, Simon Barry, was delighted with the turnout, saying: "This year's Natural & Organic Products Europe was a huge success. After what has undoubtedly been a tough year for trading, the industry responded with an incredible array of new and exciting product innovation. The aisles were packed with thousands of buyers and initial feedback from exhibitors has been that this year's show was one of the best. Thank you to everyone for making it the highlight of the industry's year."
Exhibitor Denise Maidment, managing director of Solgar Vitamins, hailed it "a fantastic show", commenting: "This year the atmosphere as been extremely positive and we've had a great response to our new product."
David Smith, UK market manager at Clif Bar & Company was equally upbeat: "Our first UK show, and it was amazing. We met all the buyers that we wanted to. We'll definitely be back next year."
While another new exhibitor, James Hamill, managing director and head beekeeper at The Hive Honey Shop, London, said: "I never imagined so many people and companies would be interested in local honey and what we do. We were inundated with orders from shops, distributors and international buyers requesting our product. It has been a really enjoyable experience to meet so many old clients in person and make so many new ones as well."
This positivity was echoed by visiting retailers, with Michael McLaughlin speaking for many when he said: "What a fantastic two days, I've found lots of great new products, caught up with colleagues and have lots of lucrative new ideas to add to my business."
Natural & Organic Products Europe is renowned for its exceptional show content, and the show's highly-anticipated Keynotes and Natural Beauty & Spa seminars were all very well-attended. Sessions included the trade launch of the latest Soil Association's Organic Market Report. Full details of which can now be found on the Soil Association's website.
Another big highlight of this year's show was the Natural Food Kitchen's live demonstrations, where celebrity chefs and top nutrition experts, including Barny Haughton, Geetie Singh (MBE), John Bailey and Dale Pinnock, drew large crowds with their mouth-watering dishes throughout the event.
Other special guests causing a stir at the show, included author and BBC Radio2 presenter Janey Lee Grace and West End star Adam Garcia; who was on the mune stand throughout the Sunday of the event to help launch the company's new health shot drinks.
The winners of the coveted Natural & Organic Awards were also announced over the weekend at London Olympia's Conference Centre, after the close of business on the first day of the show. Around 450 natural and organic professionals attended the Natural & Organic Awards, which were hosted jointly by Natural Products magazine and the Soil Association. Recognising the standout brands and products of the year, the Awards were presented by the managing director of the event's organiser, Diversified Business Communications UK, the editor of Natural Products magazine, Jim Manson and the Soil Association's director of trade relations, Jim Twine.
Commenting on the Awards, Natural Products editor Jim Manson, said: "The standard of entries this year was truly exceptional, right across the board."
The biggest Award of the evening – the Natural Products Outstanding Achievements Award – went to organic and natural health champion Peter Kindersley (founder of Sheepdrove Organic and owner of Neal's Yard Remedies).
