Exhibitor Show Highlights at Natural & Organic Products Europe 2013: Health & Nutrition and Natural Living

Natural & Organic Products Europe returns to London’s Olympia on Sunday and Monday, 7-8 April 2013, with over 600 exhibitors from all around the world.  The UK’s biggest showcase of natural, organic, Fairtrade, free-from, sustainable, and eco-friendly products, the following is just a taste of some of the latest new natural health care, nutritional supplements, and natural living innovations being introduced at this year’s trade only event.

Dietary supplements specialist Savant Distribution (stand 3043) will be introducing four new launches for 2013:  Cleanmarine® Krill Oil for Kid’s – made with smaller capsules to make them easier for kid’s to swallow; Cleanmarine® Krill Oil for Women – specially formulated for PMS and Menopause; Suvex™ Soothe – a revolutionary skin care cream for dry, red or cracked skin; and Udo’s Choice® O-KRILL 3™ – developed by Udo Erasmus, a renowned authority on EFA’s Omega 3 and 6.

Exclusively imported from Canada, PURE Defense (Pure Health Innovations, stand 3040) will be on show for the first time in Europe. PURE Defense is Sulforaphane Glucosinolate (SG), also referred to as Glucoraphanin, a naturally occurring compound in cruciferous vegetables.  It acts as a powerful antioxidant and stimulator of natural detoxifying enzymes that restores cellular DNA and skin integrity.  Pure Defense is from a non-GMO source, bred through traditional farming techniques to have up to 300 times more SG than has been measured before.

Pukka Herbs (stand 3050) is introducing its new Fibre Plus and Wheat Grass Juice handy sachets, which are now available in cartons of 20 x 4g servings.  Fibre Plus is a powerful blend of soluble and insoluble organic fibre designed to support and maintain a healthy, regular digestive system.  One of the world’s most nourishing foods, Wheat Grass Juice contains an ‘easy to digest’ broad spectrum of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, proteins and antioxidants, which naturally support the body’s ability to cleanse itself.

UK brand leaders Kingfisher Natural Toothpaste (stand 8037) will be showcasing its revised range, which is now produced without SLS.  Commenting on the change, which was prompted by consumers’ feedback about the ingredient, the company’s founder Richard Austin says: "We put no artificial flavourings, colourings, preservatives or sweeteners in our toothpastes.  Feedback has been strongly against SLS, so although we feel it is both safe and effective, we have made the change.  Appearance, price and, thankfully, the taste are unchanged."

Ovivo Wellness (stand 3021) will be launching OVIVO® Daily Antioxidant Plus, a unique liquid Olive Leaf Extract and Calendula supplement, which is new to the UK Market.  OVIVO® is energising, purifying and boosts immune defences.  It has a potent anti-microbial action, and can be taken long term by all ages.  Each dose delivers around 154mg of the active ingredient Oleuropein, and more powerful antioxidants than Vitamin C and green tea.  It is produced ethically, with natural (non-GM, pesticide free and Vegan approved) bio-active ingredients.

Medical herbal experts from Phytomed, the New Zealand manufacturer and parent company of the Kiwiherb range of 100% natural, superior quality, practitioner-strength herbal remedies, are flying in for the show with plans to update retailers on the latest developments concerning Kiwiherb product license applications.  Phytomed hopes the first license will be granted in time for the show, and once granted plans to launch a new corporate image for the brand along, with sleek, streamline packaging designs (stand 4023).

New from Nu Vitality Products (stand 3021) comes a range of functional honey, designed to aid a range of consumer health complaints, produced by nature’s hardest workers – the humble honey bee.  Fed a diet of powerful herbs, which differs from product to product, the active ingredients of the herbs enter the honey the bees produce in an intense and pre-digested format, which is very easy for the body to absorb.  Also new for 2013 is PotentMel, designed to improve male potency and erectile dysfunction.

Planet Health, the leading distributor and marketer of premium natural health products, will introduce several new products on stand 4013.  These include Lifestream High Phycocyanin Spirulina Blue; Lifestream V-Omega; Qsilica ‘One-a-Day’ tablets; and Qsilica Paw Paw RESCUE Ointment.  They will also be showcasing Watson & Son ‘Black Label’ Manuka Honey; the Australian Bush Flower Essences range; Qsilica skincare products and supplements; and Lifestream Superfood Supplements.

Lyprinol UK’s Green Lipped Mussel Extract is a natural food supplement for joint suppleness and mobility, which protects cartilage and inhibits the functions that cause the ageing processes in the joints.  It is 100 times more potent than EPA Max (fish oil) and 200 times more potent than Flax Oil.  Lyprinol is one of the best natural sources of Omega-3 in the diet because it contains additional lipids, which are unique to the Green Lipped Mussel (Pure Health Innovations, stand 3040).

Since last year's show, the highly acclaimed supplement brand Terranova (Kinetic Natural Products Distributor, stand 5008) has continued its considerable investment in the development of truly unique and effective new products.  2013 sees  the launch of three new fresh freeze dried super-blend powders (Green pH Alkaline Super-Blend; Hawthorn, Bilberry & Ginkgo Super-Blend; and Beetroot, Cordyceps & Reishi Super-Blend); Quercetin Nettle Complex; and Magnifood-enhanced Vitamin B12 500ug (methylcobalamin).  Plus new single serving sachets of Terranova's breakout success of 2012, Life Drink.

Purition is a new, British, 100% natural nutrition brand that is launching at this year’s show (stand 1054).  It’ll be introducing Bodysculpt and BodyPro – high protein, high fibre wholefood shakes, made from a unique blend of nuts, seeds, triple-filtered whey protein, and 100% natural flavourings; plus Superseed – a delicious blend of freshly ground nuts, seeds, and natural flavourings. Purition’s products are designed to nourish and satisfy the mind and body, and to provide an abundance of natural nutrition conveniently – ideal for today’s busy lifestyles.

An innovative leader in the health food industry, Nutiva (Kinetic Natural Products Distributor, stand 5008) offers the finest quality organic hemp, coconut and chia superfoods.  A values-driven company, dedicated to nourishing people and the planet since 1999, Nutiva strives to educate consumers about current developments in nutritional science, organic farming, green energy, and fair trade practices within the global economy.  At this year’s show they’ll be launching Coconut Flour, Coconut Sugar and Coconut Chips.

NOW Foods, the award winning natural supplements brand from the USA, is now available from Vital Life International (stand 4031).  Also new for 2013, is Vital Life’s new, premium brand from Scandinavia – Alive.  On Sunday 7 April, between 12pm and 2pm, Karen Fewster, the company’s director of regulatory affairs, will be hosting an on-stand discussion on the EU regulations minefield and how to ensure compliance.  She’ll be covering topics such as information on packs, confusion over claims, criteria for Traditional Herbal Registrations (THRs) and the impending changes to cosmetic regulations, which take effect from June 2013.

G&G Vitamins is offering tasters of their Organic Essential Food, a green superfood bursting with energy, on stand 1034.  Taken in the morning in juice or a smoothie, this product is an ideal start to anyone’s day.  Packed full of organic goodness, it contains pre-sprouted Barley, Barley Grass, Bilberry, Apples, Carrots, Spirulina, Kelp (Ascophyllum), Quinoa, and Flaxseed.  It is certified Organic by the Soil Association, as well as Kosher.  G&G also carry a full range of high quality, wheat, yeast, gluten and lactose free supplements.

Zenbev Drink Mix from Biosential Inc makes its UK debut at this year’s show (stand 2005).  Zenbev is a Canadian proprietary beverage mixture (available in two delicious flavours) derived from organic pumpkin seeds, which is clinically proven to improve day to day function in stressful times.  This extensively researched and tested formulation was developed by Dr. Craig Hudson, and supports nervous system function and good psychological function.  Zenbev is available in association with Blue Web Retail.

Quest Vitamins (stand 2012) will be presenting Immune System Biotix – a unique combination of nutrients that contribute to the normal function of the immune system; including vitamin D, selenium, zinc and copper, beta glucans from yeast, aged garlic and probiotic bacteria.  Immune System Biotix contains the most active form of beta glucans.  Aged garlic extract supports the immune system, whilst Vitamin D, selenium, zinc and copper each play a role in the normal functioning of the immune system.

PURE Fusion is a sulforaphane skincare range as seen on ‘OWN – The Oprah Winfrey Network’.  Derived from Broccoli Seed, which is stabilised in a liquid form, this extra strength ointment’s key ingredient is its high amount of Sulforaphane, which has a number of health benefits; including being one of the most potent naturally-occurring inducers of Phase II Enzymes.  It is designed for use on lesions/skin abnormalities, psoriasis, eczema, cuts, scrapes, burns, insect bites, infections and age spots (Pure Health Innovations, stand 3040).

Leading natural vitamin and nutritional supplement brand Nature's Plus UK (stand 4012) is launching three ground-breaking new products at this year’s show.  SKINNY MINI Liquid Juice Fast is a breakthrough 48-hour programme designed to leave users feeling sleeker and slimmer in just a few days; AgeLoss Rejuvabolic Anti-Ageing System is a scientifically calibrated array of antioxidants that addresses all five major classes of free radicals; and Pre-Diet Cleanse is a 3-day morning and evening tablet programme, designed to help cleanse out intestinal and systemic toxins for optimal dieting results.

New for 2013, Renew Life, North America’s No.1 digestive care and cleansing company, will be introducing its products to the UK on stand 3023.  Offering a strong line-up of therapeutic strength products that have a profound impact on health, its medical advisory team ensures every formula has a solid foundation from a medial and holistic perspective.  Renew Life specialises in total body cleansing, high potency probiotics, fibre, digestive enzymes, and high potency fish oils.

Amazing Grass, a small, family owned company, which has been growing delicious, affordable and convenient green foods for over 60 years, will be introducing new flavours to its Organic Green Superfood range at this year’s show (stand 4008, Kinetic Natural Products Distributor).  Every Amazing Grass product includes its own organic cereal grasses (wheat grass, barley grass, rye grass, and oat grass) and alfalfa.  Grown through a cold winter in the ground for over 200 days, low temperature flash dehydration and frozen storage, ensure customers get the most nutritious whole-leaf green food powders available.

VitaFree Health Ltd presents Young pHorever and Hunza on stand 2022 at this year’s event.  It’ll be showcasing alkalising greens, salts and minerals under the Young pHorever brand, introduced by Dr. Robert O. Young, which are being sold as part of the pH Miracle product line very successfully in the USA.  Also new for 2013 is the HUNZA Apricot Kernel range, which is rich in vitamin B17.

New exhibitor Aromatherapy Clinic Australia Pty will be showcasing its unique blends of aromatherapy essential oils on stand 4095A (Australian Pavilion).  Products include Anti Snoring Blend; Immune Booster; Eczema Blend; Energizing Blend; Relaxing Blend – helps to calm the nerves and emotions; Sinus Clearing Blend; Respiratory Blend – helps to decongest respiratory tract; Monthly Comfort – period pain and cramp remedy; Joint Blend – relieve for painful joints caused by arthritis and rheumatism; and Muscle Pain Remedy.

The first company in the UK to be granted a Traditional Herbal Registration (THR) from the MHRA, following a new directive in May 2011, Natures Aid will be launching its new range of Herbal THRs on stand 2036.  New product development and continual product evolution have been vital to Natures Aid’s consistent success, with many award-winning products developed by its in-house expert team of nutritionists, biochemists and ingredient technologists. The Natures Aid THR range is natural and suitable for vegans.

Hay fever is a huge problem for millions of people across the globe every year, and HayMax™ Allergen Barrier Balms have been helping people trap the pollen for many years now; collecting 18 awards on the way.  Visitors to stand 2019 can find out details of its new packaging and POS, which shouts about the organic balms’ ability to trap dust and pet allergens (as well as pollen) – as demonstrated by new research conducted by the Pollen and Aerobiology Research Unit (NPARU) at Worcester University.

Nutrex Hawaii’s BioAstin® Hawaiian Astaxanthin supports joint and tendon health, skin during UV and sun exposure, eye and brain health, and improves recovery from exercise (stand 4080A, American Beauty & Wellbeing Pavilion).  Astaxanthin is a red carotenoid and a potent antioxidant found in plants, animals and algae.  It is over 500 times more powerful than vitamin E, and 10-20 times stronger than other carotenoids; such as Zeaxanthin, Lutein, Lycopene and Beta-Carotene.  BioAstin® is derived from Haematococcus Pluvialis – the richest source of natural Astaxanthin.

With a wealth of experience in the herbal trade since in 1949, Hemani General Trading finally launches in the UK this year and will be showcasing its range of over 250 products on stand 6097.  Already well known across Northern Africa, the Middle East, and Western and Northern Asia, the Hemani collection includes herbal oils, skincare and hair care products, Herbal Slimming Tea (new for 2013), and Black Seed Oil, which is available in pure form, with Honey, or even as a soap.

Latvian company Nikafarm will be showcasing its Alco-Bye herbal food supplement on stand 2006.  Designed to be taken after alcohol consumption as a hangover remedy, it is currently being sold in local pharmacy chains and supermarkets.

Bébécatalog (stand 2003) will be showcasing brand new products from Hevea, which feature stylish toys, teethers and pacifiers made of natural rubber – perfect for eco babies.  They will also introduce design-led Scandinavian range Fabulous Goose, which includes stunning blankets, cushions and the cool Hookies.

dōTERRA UK will be introducing its ‘On Guard’ range at this year’s show.  US medical studies have found that the proprietary combination of wild orange, clove, cinnamon, eucalyptus and rosemary essential oils in On Guard® is highly effective against viruses and bacteria that can be resistant to antibiotics treatment.  Products include On Guard® Foaming Hand Wash; On Guard® Protective Blend; and On Guard® Cleaner Concentrate.  dōTERRA UK will also be hosting a visitor raffle for its On Guard® kit, plus Natural Living products, on stand 4119.

Wendygoesgreen (stand 2061) has developed a Shake & Shine™ and Spray & Shine™ range of natural cleaning products using essential ingredients with natural power.  They use biodegradable ingredients that are certified as safe and only include what’s needed to do the job, so there are no hidden costs.  Each product also has the pH value of the contents on the label and all of the products have multi uses – making them the most versatile and environmentally and skin safe cleaning products to have in a home.

The Colonialists Landmark Cosmetics India Pvt. Ltd (stand 4100) is an Indian company, under European management for 15 years, which trades in natural and certified essential oils from all around the world.  For 2013, they’ll be introducing a brand new air freshener collection, which can be used everywhere – from small spaces to industrial areas.  The new Sensians Hydrosols are essential oils that are designed to be used with nebulisers and humidifiers.
