Sunday 1 November marks the return of Natural Products Scandinavia to Malmö, Sweden.  The Nordic region’s only dedicated trade event for the natural health, nutrition, beauty, skin care, and self-care markets, it’s already firmly established as an essential calendar date for thousands of natural and organic retailers and buyers from across Scandinavia and beyond.

Since its launch in 2012, Natural Products Scandinavia has enjoyed significant year-on-year growth and been shortlisted for two best trade show awards along the way (it won Best International Launch at the UK’s Exhibition News Awards in 2013).  Thanks to rave reviews and a 13% increase in attendees last year (it welcomed 3,558 natural and organic industry professionals from 51 countries), the 2015 event, which is co-located with Nordic Organic Food Fair, is on track for its biggest sell-out edition yet.

With visitor registration now open, organiser Diversified Communications UK has revealed an exclusive first look at some of the 350 companies preparing to exhibit this autumn.

Big name brands & new product innovations

So, what can visitors expect from the show’s biggest edition so far?  Well, more new companies for a start.  As ever, the show’s exhibitor line-up is comprehensively eclectic – filled with a who’s who of companies that will be helping to shape the future of natural and organic over the next twelve months.

The new Beauty & Skincare Zone (located at the front of the show) will feature first time appearances from i+m Naturkosmetik (Sweden), Aroha AB (Sweden), Sosar natural cosmetics (Estonia), Bee Cera by Fotiadis (Greece), Biok Laboratorija (Lithuania), Ekovista Oy (Finnish distributor for the Acorelle, Pur Aloe, Lovea Bio, and Benecos brands) and Natura Siberica – the first certified organic Russian cosmetics range to be formulated with wild-harvested Siberian herbs.  They join returning big names like Naturkosmetikkompaniet Naturkosmos AB, Strindberg AS, and Kivvi Cosmetics.

This year’s natural health and nutrition exhibitors include Probiotics International/Bio-Kult (UK), Nature’s Aid (UK), Estvita (Estonia), The Natural Doctor (Norway), Nordic Health Sprays (Sweden), Lime Pharma ApS (Denmark), Engholm NDS Nutrition (Denmark), Futmed (Finland), Mycology Research Lab (UK), Nature's Plus (UK), Health Link (Czech Republic), and Naturlider (Spain).

New additions to the Natural Living line-up include Nyttadesign (ethically produced, eco-friendly textile products from Sweden), Safe Health (Denmark), and Farminia sp ZOO (natural remedies and medicines from Poland), joining Edura AB, Humble Brush, Jack N’ Jill Natural Toothpaste, Nuwell Health & Wellness, and Max Aarts BV.

Whilst Planet Organic (UK), Tekompaniet AB (Sweden), Sunder (Turkey), Feinstoff Vertriebs (Austria), Green Sales Distribution (Sweden), TypicalGreen (Belgium) are just some of the new natural food and drink exhibitors confirmed for this year’s show.  Returning names include Canah International, Pulsin’, Swedish distributors Goodtrade Scandinavia, V-Sell Ekologiska Produkter, and Dagsmeja, plus Divina Theresa and Veganz (in the new Vegan Society Pavilion).

“Svensk Egenvård has supported the event from its launch in 2012.  Since then Natural Products Scandinavia has become a crucial part the natural and organic products industry – this is where the Scandinavian industry meets,” says managing director Mats Nilsson.

We come to the show to find the latest new products and business innovations, and also for inspiration!” says Maria Jingham, category manager at Life.

Cecilia Karlsson, assortment manager for organic and health products at ICA Sverige AB (one of the biggest supermarkets in Sweden), also enjoyed her visit last year, praising the show’s “diversity of suppliers” and range of “high quality products”.

Industry trends & insights

Running throughout the two day show, Natural Products Scandinavia’s free business seminars are renowned for attracting a host of high-profile brands and industry leaders from across the health and beauty sectors.  Such is their popularity, that this year’s show sees the introduction of a brand new theatre (alongside the existing Natural Theatre) dedicated entirely to the world of Natural Beauty.

The full theatre programmes (including essential market updates) are set to be unveiled within the next few months, however sessions by Stefen Anbro (Euromonitor), Amarjit Sahota (Organic Monitor), Manon Suquet (Ecocert), Lara Dassi (connature.com), and retail training expert Dennis Reid (RPS) have already been confirmed.

Save the date

Exciting, excellent, inspiring, important and relevant – that’s the verdict from Natural Products Scandinavia 2014.  Visitors included key buyers and managers from Dansk Supermarked, Life Europe, Lidl, ICA Sverige AB, Hälsokraft, Apoteket AB, Matas A/S, Bergendahlsgruppen, Axfood, Coop Trading A/S, and Waitrose UK, plus hundreds of independent health stores, pharmacies, boutiques, beauty professionals, and online retailers.  This year’s show promises more of the same.

Natural Products Scandinavia (1-2 November, MalmöMässan, Sweden) is co-located with Nordic Organic Food Fair, which means visiting health food buyers also benefit from access to the latest organic products from world-leading brands like Biolab, Sonnentor, Pukka Herbs, Oately, Les Jardins De Gaïa, and Biofood.
