Dreams – Giving an hour back to the nation

Bed specialist Dreams have this week launched a campaign aimed at giving back valuable time to the nation.

Through an online competition hosted on their Twitter page @Dreams_Beds, visitors to the site are being encouraged to share what they would do, if they were able to add an extra hour to their day.

The ‘win an hour back’ competition is giving away prizes, as an incentive for people to take time out and spend an hour (or more) doing something enjoyable. Prizes claimed up to now have been a Buy-a-gift voucher worth £150, and afternoon tea for two – with plenty more to come over the next three weeks, including a weekend for two in the romantic city of Paris.

The Twitter page is a hive of activity, with people flocking to the site to declare how they would spend their hour. Amongst the comments are those who want to spend more time with family or friends over lunch, whilst others simply want more sleep. This last point has proven a popular discussion, and Dreams have since made available a ‘dreams expert’ for a live Q&A session to help interpret customers dreams and give advice on how to get a good night’s sleep.

“The competition has really opened everyone’s eyes to just how little time we all have to spend doing the things we love. Lots of people have said that they would like to spend the hour in bed, which has sparked discussion over unusual dreams and sleeping patterns of the UK public. It’s been a great place for people to share, and we’ve now got an expert on hand to shed some light on how to interpret the dreams, and give tips on getting quality sleep.

We realise how easy it is for people to get swept up in everyday life and we want to give them an incentive, or rather an excuse to slow down in a bid to remind people how important it is to take time out for themselves every now and then. This point has already been highlighted through the amount of people expressing their trouble in sleeping at night.”

The competition will run for another three weeks until 22ndApril, and is open to anyone who thinks they would benefit from an extra hour in their day. To enter, all people have to do is visit the Dreams Twitter page and include the hash tag: #winanhourback in their tweet on how they would spend their hour.  Winners are picked at random to receive the prize of the moment.

The campaign has come just in time for daylight saving hours which came into effect over Easter.
