Company continues to innovate in scalable technology and mobility with plans to unveil new

business travel products and services at the GBTA Convention 2013

BELLEVUE, Wash.—(July 31, 2013)—Egencia®, the business travel company of Expedia, Inc. (NASDAQ: EXPE), announced today that it will participate at the GBTA Convention 2013 in San Diego from August 4-7 and plans to unveil new mobile technology and customer service offerings within its booth, number 925.

Egencia continues to build out the unique ‘user experience’ for corporate travelers by leveraging consumer insights and the innovative spirit of its parent, Expedia, Inc.—the world’s largest travel company. At the GBTA Convention, Egencia will demo its integrated mobile platform that leverages the virtues of Egencia’s proprietary global technology, delivering an unmatched online booking, mobile and agent experience for business travelers and customers. The company also will preview offerings from its new Intelligent Service Platform™ and introduce the Egencia Hotel Value Score™ system.

Vukelich adds that Egencia has seen evidence from pilot customers using the Hotel Value Score system to save money, improve administrative productivity and increase traveler satisfaction.

Egencia also partnered with the GBTA Foundation to sponsor a study that focused on how travel managers define a global travel management program. The survey included 1,429 respondents from Asia, Europe, Latin America, and North America with travel spend ranging from less than $10 million to $50 million and above. The results of this study will be shared on Sunday, August 4 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. PST at the GBTA Convention 2013 (Room 6C) during a panel presentation called “Travel Buyers Only: What does a “Global” Travel Program Look Like?” The panel will feature representatives from:

  • Joe Bates, vice president, research for the GBTA Foundation
  • Mark Hollyhead,  senior vice president, Americas for Egencia
  • Jennifer Zimmerman, sourcing specialist, travel & risk, strategic sourcing for ManpowerGroup
  • Raymond Williams, senior manager, global travel, meetings and reimbursements at Starbucks

To thank customers and partners, Egencia will be hosting a festive summer celebration on Tuesday, August 6 at the Hotel Solamar, a Kimpton Hotel, as part of the GBTA Convention.  The party co-sponsor, Hertz, will bring cars for guests to preview including a selection of Dream Cars, the Hertz #22 Ford Mustang from the NASCAR Nationwide Series, returning from its recent win at Chicagoland Speedway, and the newest car Hertz's Adrenaline Collection, the Hertz Penske GT.
