Helping Health Information Exchange Participants Meet Meaningful Use Stage 2

August 12, 2014 – eHealth Technologies, a leading provider of continuity of care solutions, is pleased to announce that two Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) have implemented the company’s latest capability in image sharing - Image-Enabled Results Delivery. This feature is now available through eHealth Technologies’ eHealth Connect® Image Exchange, an industry leading solution that enables medical image and results viewing from within a HIE and HIE participants’ EHRs.

Image Enabled Results Delivery provides fast and efficient access to images in the context of the results message, maximizing the physician’s time with their patient while eliminating multiple logins and navigation, and presenting easy-to-use diagnostic-quality viewing of the medical images tied to that result,” explained Ken Rosenfeld, CEO and President at eHealth Technologies. “We are excited to have the first two HIEs implement this capability for their participants.”

Embedding a secure link and PIN into the result sent to the physicians EHR, or sending the results within a secure direct message, physicians are able to navigate directly from their EHR to view images related to the diagnostic report right from within their browser of choice, or even from their mobile device.

“Ensuring that physicians and other care givers have rapid access to relevant, information-rich records is critical in achieving our mission,” said Ted Kremer, MPH, executive director of the Rochester Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO). “Our adoption of Image Exchange Results Delivery is another step in the seamless delivery of patient information between providers and health systems, while also helping practices meet imaging menu criteria for Meaningful Use Stage 2.”

“Delivering timely and valued regional health information to participating provider organizations, through EHR integration or Direct secure messaging, is a key benefit to both providers and patients,” said Rob Hack, executive director of HealtheConnections RHIO of Central New York. “Time, quality and cost efficiencies can be realized when physicians and other care providers are able to not only receive and view radiology reports, but are now able to seamlessly and securely link to full diagnostic quality image studies.”
