Emergency Nurses Association Hosts Annual Conference in Indianapolis
Education, networking, advocacy and Emergency Nurses Week take center stage October 9-11
(October 9, 2014) – Emergency nurses from around the world will convene at the 2014 Emergency Nurses Association Annual Conference October 9-11, 2014, in Indianapolis. Conference attendees will benefit from more than 90 educational sessions ranging from clinical topics to sessions on leadership and management.
World-renowned speakers will headline the conference including:
- Opening Session speaker Diane Sieg. Diane is an ED nurse turned professional speaker, published author, mindfulness coach and yoga teacher. She has a unique perspective on life and stress management, and teaches how to improve your health, happiness and bottom line from the boardroom to the bedside through the practice of mindfulness. She’ll be speaking about how to weather the storms of life by increasing emotional intelligence, compassion and intelligence on October 9 at 1:15 pm.
- General Session speaker John Nance. John has the reputation of being a tireless advocate for patient safety and medical excellence. He’s an internationally recognized air safety analyst and advocate best known as an Aviation Analyst for ABC World News and Aviation Editor for Good Morning America. His book, Why Hospitals Should Fly, was named the 2009 Book of the Year by the American College of Healthcare Executives, and his important sequel, Charting the Course, is now available. His session is October 10 at 8:00 am.
- Closing Session speaker John Spence. John’s mission is to “Make the very complex awesomely simple.” For the past two decades John has traveled worldwide to assist more than 300 client companies such as Microsoft, Apple, IBM, GE, Qualcomm and numerous other Fortune 500 firms. He’ll be discussing how to deal with change including the six things that must be implemented in a change process to ensure its success on Saturday, October 11, at 4:15 pm.

ENA will also be celebrating Emergency Nurses Week™ (EN Week) taking place October 5-11. This year’s theme, “Life Saving Hands,” recognizes that emergency nurses play an integral role in emergency environments, providing critical care when it’s most needed. Emergency Nurses Day® was Wednesday, October 8. EN Week was created to support and honor the advancement and professionalism of emergency nurses everywhere.
