Eniro has signed an agreement with the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS) on the toll free directory information number 118 400 for functionally disabled people. The service is for blind, visually impaired and other persons who are unable or have difficulty searching for phone numbers and addresses. The agreement is for up to four years and is worth an estimated SEK 20 M. The service will be available starting in March 2015.

With the 118 400 directory information service, functionally disabled people can search for phone numbers and addresses in Sweden and be connected to the requested number. The directory information service is free of charge. Customers pay only for the call made to the requested number, in accordance with the agreement they have with their telecom operator.

The service is intended for private persons in Sweden and can be accessed via both fixed-line and mobile phones. Access to the service requires prior registration by the functionally disabled person.

“For us it feels good to be able to help everyone to have the same opportunities to communicate, regardless of whether it pertains to a phone number to a private person or to a business,” says Ylva Ekborn, Head of Eniro Voice Sweden and Finland.

The agreement is for four years and is worth an estimated SEK 20 M. It will be available starting in March 2015. The 118 400 directory information number handles approximately 65,000 calls every month. For Eniro, the agreement will ensure a stable volume and contribute to Eniro 118 188 AB’s ability to continue offering a cost-effective directory information service.
