Ericsson selected by AIS for EDGE network expansion and as sole supplier of MMS solution in Thailand
The expansion agreement covers the second phase of the EDGE network in the Bangkok metropolitan area, including civil works and maintenance services.
In conjunction with the expansion agreement, AIS has also chosen Ericsson as its sole MMS solution provider. Turnkey project management, systems integration, competence development services and solution support service are included in the MMS agreement.
"As the leading mobile operator in Thailand we are expected to provide top quality services to our customers," said Mrs. Arpattra Sringkarrinkul, Executive Vice President-Solutions at AIS. "Ericsson has demonstrated its commitment to mutual business and solution development and has proven their ability to provide state-of-the-art technology. This was the reason that AIS chose Ericsson. We are now in line with our commitment to upgrade the network, enabling our customers to enhance their mobile multimedia experience with high speed data access."
"Ericsson is honored to once again be chosen by AIS," said Hans O. Karlsson, President of Ericsson Thailand. "These contracts further demonstrate the strong partnership between the two companies.
