CHICAGO, MARCH 1, 2013 – TK Products, Inc. today introduced its debut product: TK™10, the ultimate home trash krusher. The TK10’s patent-pending technology marks a breakthrough: it enables you to manually, cleanly and effortlessly compact your kitchen trash, right inside the can. The announcement was made at the International Home + Housewares show being held this weekend at McCormick Place.

The TK10's breakthrough is its sturdy Compaction Device, which is built right into the lid. By simply grabbing the handle and pushing, you can compact household trash down to about half its normal volume, without getting any garbage on your sleeve. This means fewer trips to the curb and also real cost savings that comes from using fewer plastic trash bags.

The TK10 was designed to be eco-friendly. Users will dispose about half as many plastic bags in our landfill, compared to comparable kitchen cans. According to the Clean Air Council, plastic bags create 30,000 tons of landfill waste every year.

“One of the core ideas behind the TK10 was to try to alleviate the impact that plastic has on our environment,” says co-inventor John Hyle. “Plastic bags have a hard time decomposing to begin with, but in a landfill without the exposure to sunlight and air, they may take more than 500 years to biodegrade. With the TK10, our customers will be throwing less plastic away.”

“Our design goal was to re-invent the kitchen can,” says co-inventor Pete Ellman. “We designed the TK10 to be an attractive, high-end product made of brushed stainless steel, which includes all of the best-in-class features of the finest kitchen cans currently on the market.  In addition to its eco-friendly features, we think the sleek, gorgeous TK10 will look great in the finest kitchens of the world.”

The TK10 Compaction Device rinses clean in seconds, right in your kitchen sink. In addition to the unique Compaction Device, key features of the TK10 include:

- Uses any quality bags
- Sleek stainless steel
- Fingerprint proof
- Stay-open, silent, slow-close lid
- Soft-touch foot pedal
- Bag-locking mechanism.

The TK10 is 10.57 gallons (40 liters) and comes with a 10-year warranty.  It is ideal for kitchen trash and recyclables (except glass). It works with any standard 10 or 13-gallon bag.  TK Products recommends eco-friendly trash bags. MSRP is $199.99. CA residents please add 8% tax.
