Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, Hotel Haaga Central Park and Fazer Food Services Finland are embarking on a new type of cooperation to develop restaurant services to meet future consumer needs. This cooperation is founded on the participants’ shared ideas about well-being and responsibility, and improvement of the customer experience.

As a result of this new collaboration, Haaga-Helia, Hotel Haaga Central Park and Fazer Food Services form a stronger foundation and more extensive opportunities for cooperation between companies and students in the business, as well as for future innovations and improvement of the customer experience.

As part of these efforts, Fazer Food Services took over the operation of the restaurant and conference business of Hotel Haaga Central Park and the Haaga campus restaurant on 1 February 2019. Hotel Haaga Oy remains in charge of the accommodation business.

“This cooperation is fantastic and at the same time a part of our greater ambition to reform what and how people eat in Finland. We at Fazer want to create joy and wellbeing. “According to our recent trend study, responsibility and wellbeing are upward trends in everyday life in Finland, and the green revolution has only just begun. Innovation networks enable us to create new kinds of solutions and to influence the development of the entire field together with other operators”, says Hannu Rahnasto, VP, Commercial at Fazer Food Services Finland.

“Haaga-Helia’s vision is to be Finland’s most attractive and professionally-oriented Finnish institution of higher education. Learning and innovation shall occur in networks to a much larger extent than before. This cooperation takes the Place to Be development and learning environment at the Haaga campus to an entirely new level. It opens a more direct route for students to participate in the operations of a leading company in the business, for example through traineeships and projects, which is in line with Haaga-Helia’s mission to open doors to future careers”, says Risto Karmavuo, degree programme director at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences.

The restaurant and conference services complement Fazer Food Services’ offering in holistic wellbeing, introducing interesting and inspiring concepts such as Fazer Brainhow, of which the core idea is to nourish the brain.

General Manager Päivi Laine is also excited about the new cooperation: “The vision of Hotel Haaga Central Park is to be a wellness hotel. At Wellness conferences we enable holistic wellbeing and reinvigoration of the mind and body”.
