Hold while the heat’s on

Holding bins keep food in perfect condition, with no loss of quality

Holding bins allow operators to prepare menu components in advance and store them until an order is received. The food remains hot and fresh, helping increase the speed of service while maintaining quality.

FEM (Foodservice Equipment Marketing) is bringing holding bins made by US manufacturer Prince Castle to the UK. These can hold food in perfect condition for over an hour, with no loss of flavour, texture or shrinkage.

Three different models are available. The smallest is 484mm(w) x 610mm(d) x 340mm(h) and holds 2 1/1 GN pans. Other models can handle four, six or eight pans.

The Prince Castle Reli-A-Temp infra-red technology provides consistent heat, with the temperature in each cavity independently controllable via solid state digital controls. The heater is designed to spread heat evenly over the entire holding area, with no drop off at the edges.

Both fried and non-fried menu items can be held in the same bin, with no loss of quality. As the heat generated by the bin is gentle, steam isn’t required for keeping food in peak condition, meaning the unit does not have to be plumbed in.

The exclusive MenuTrak system helps identify where menu items are stored and tracks their respective hold times. This takes the guesswork out of knowing when more food needs to be cooked, or when any needs to be removed.
