Fennovoima invites Rosatom to direct negotiations

Fennovoima Board of Directors has decided to invite Rosatom to direct negotiations regarding the supply of Fennovoima's nuclear power plant. The direct negotiations with Rosatom will commence immediately.

Fennovoima’s majority owner Voimaosakeyhtiö SF has purchased E.ON’s 34 per cent share in Fennovoima. Voimaosakeyhtiö SF now owns all of Fennovoima's shares.

In October 2012, E.ON announced that it is divesting all its operations in Finland, including its ownership in Fennovoima’s nuclear power plant project in Pyhäjoki.

New CEO nominated for Fennovoima

Fennovoima Board of Directors has on 24th October nominated M.Sc. (Tech.) Juha Nurmi as the CEO of Fennovoima.

Mr Nurmi has been working at Fennovoima as Project Director since October 2011 and as temporary CEO since October 2012. Mr Nurmi will continue in his task as Project Director also after being now nominated as the CEO.

Fennovoima received bids for nuclear power plant

Fennovoima has today received the commercial bids for its nuclear power plant unit Hanhikivi 1 (HA1) which is planned for construction in the Pyhäjoki municipality in Northern Finland. Technical bids arrived already earlier in January and their evaluation is underway. The scope of the bids covers the engineering, supply and construction of the nuclear and turbine islands.

Fennovoima nuclear power plant to be constructed in Pyhäjoki

Fennovoima has chosen Pyhäjoki as the site for its nuclear power plant. Pyhäjoki municipality is located in North Ostrobothnia and the nuclear power plant will be constructed on Hanhikivi peninsula on the coast of Bothnian Bay.

For the basis of the site selection, assessments were carried out during some four years. In the beginning of Fennovoima project in summer 2007, the company had almost 40 alternative sites....

Fennovoima invited bids for its power plant

Fennovoima has today on 1stJuly sent a bid invitation to Areva and Toshiba for the construction of a new nuclear power plant. The bids are requested for the delivery and construction of reactor and turbine islands. Fennovoima will decide the final model of delivery during the contract negotiations that will be carried out based on the delivered bids.
