The shareholders responded to the investment decision proposal given for them in early September, aiming at starting the operation of the nuclear power plant in Pyhäjoki in 2024.

At the moment, Voimaosakeyhtiö SF owns Fennovoima completely. 45 of the shareholders of Voimaosakeyhtiö SF have decided to continue in Fennovoima. All decisions are conditional for the time being, as the negotiations between Fennovoima and Rosatom are ongoing.

Fennovoima Board of Directors has on 24th October nominated M.Sc. (Tech.) Juha Nurmi as the CEO of Fennovoima.

Mr Nurmi has been working at Fennovoima as Project Director since October 2011 and as temporary CEO since October 2012. Mr Nurmi will continue in his task as Project Director also after being now nominated as the CEO.

Before joining Fennovoima, Mr Nurmi has had a long career in various executive positions at the construction group Lemminkäinen, both in Finland and abroad.
