Finavia’s air navigation services have been incorporated into its own company. The name of the new company is Air Navigation Services Finland Oy (ANS Finland).

Air Navigation Services Finland Oy (ANS Finland) provides the en-route services as well as aerodrome control services and approach control services for 22 airports in Finland.

En-route services include area control services in Finland, airspace management, aeronautical search and rescue and air traffic flow management. The new company will also be responsible for providing air navigation technological services.

“Our aim is to provide competitive and cost efficient air traffic services in Finland. Separation of the airport company and the air navigation company clarifies the structures for producing air traffic services and is in line with what is happening elsewhere in Europe. This arrangement gives us better possibilities of strengthening Finland’s strong position in the international development of air traffic,” says ANS Finland CEO Raine Luojus.

ANS Finland will operate independently and as a state owned company, totally separate from Finavia, under the ownership steering of the Ministry of Traffic and Communications.

ANS Finlands turnover is about EUR 75 million.
