Gatespace's Platform now Included as Part of the CiscoWorks Service Management Solution Gatespace's open solution provides remote management functionality, increasing deployment flexibility for network administrators PALO ALTO, Calif., August 15, 2001 - Gatespace, a provider of open standards-based distributed service platforms for designing, developing, and delivering network-based services, announced that its technology is deployed in the CiscoWorks 2000 Service Management Solution. The CiscoWorks 2000 Service Management Solution manages service levels between enterprises and internal or external service providers to ensure quality-of-service. Gatespace's Distributed Service Platform (GDSP) provides the Service Level Manager (SLM) Collection Manager, a component of the Service Management Solution, with remote management functionality enabling dynamic deployment and life-cycle management of Cisco's Java- based control agents. "Gatespace's platform enables decreasing time-to-market, while substantially cutting development costs and we are delighted that Cisco has chosen Gatespace's technology to be part of the Cisco Works Service Management Solution," says Staffan Truvé, founder and CEO of Gatespace. GDSP 3.0 is based on Java and is designed to fully comply with the Open Services Gateway Initiative (OSGi). It includes a speed-optimized framework, which is the heart of the distributed service platform, along with a variety of value-added components such as secure communication, remote management, accounting/payment and support for a variety of device protocols, including UPnP.
