Green Landscaping in cooperation with the City of Gothenburg for Green Steps integration program

Green Landscaping has within the framework of its integration program Green Steps signed an agreement with the City of Gothenburg municipality to strengthen the possibilities for newly arrived immigrants and long-term unemployed people to enter the labour market.

“Our business is built on the idea to create pleasant and inclusive outdoor environments for all – a condition for this is also that we have an inclusive society overall”, says Johan Nordström, CEO of Green Landscaping.

Green Steps is a trainee program that includes a mentorship and combines training with work experience. During the year, 20-30 participants will be part of Green Steps and develop their skills while receiving hands-on experience together with an instructor. The aim is that the participants will be validated according to the industry’s work certification, equivalent to a high school level proficiency.

“Green Landscaping wants to be a role model in creating benefits for the society, and Green Steps is an excellent example of how we do it. We are very happy that the City of Gothenburg becomes our first partner in this project. Going forward, our ambition is to launch similar programs in additional municipalities and contribute to a sustainable society over time”, says Johan Nordström.
