GSF Car Parts announce Jason Bavin has joined as Tools and Equipment Technical Specialist to support fast-growing van sales for the national motor factor.

GSF Car Parts introduced their automotive Sealey Tool Van – the first in the UK – in January, and say the reception since has been ‘superb’. The van provides a fully fitted mobile viewing and demonstration facility for over 500 of Sealey’s best-selling lines, even boasting built-in heating and a TV for video demonstrations.

“Our branch network has really bought into this,” said John Wright, Head of Garage Equipment and Customer Development at GSF. “And most importantly so have their local garages.

“With lots of branches requesting the van, high value products that need professional demonstration, not to mention potential to add more vans, we saw the need for a full-time specialist right away, so we’re delighted to welcome Jason.”

Jason, who’s previously worked for Sykes Pickavant, Alba and Laser Tools, has a proven pedigree in technical tool sales, not to mention big plans for the van concept. The intention is to group the van’s stock more closely around four key areas of braking, suspension, service and specialist tooling.

“We’re also going to be adding test rigs so we can demonstrate things like the coil spring compressor,” said Jason. “My job is to help branch staff identify the specific opportunities on individual garage visits and then help propose solutions.”

Jason says whilst communicating product features and benefits will always be important, it’s the time savings and return on investment that typically persuade garages to make new investment.

Jason perceives a dual role, saying: “When we’re out on visits then yes, of course it’s about selling there and then but it’s also about training and informing the GSF team to sell this equipment more confidently after we’ve left.”

Garages are advised to look out for the van whilst John adds that adding further vans in 2016 is ‘very much a possibility’ for GSF Car Parts.
