HEAD racquet rebels winning titles and records

Racquet Rebels dominated on the ATP in Rotterdam and Memphis, with HEAD‘s Tomas Berdych winning his ninth career title and Ivo Karlovic reaching the Memphis final. On the WTA Tour, HEAD made history as Peng Shuai became the first from her nation - man or woman - to achieve a No. 1 ranking when she moved to the top of the doubles rankings.

In Rotterdam, Berdych, who recommends the HEAD YouTekTM Graphene Instinct, beat Marin Cilic 6-4, 6-2, winning his first title since Stockholm 2012. The victory over Cilic, who endorses the HEAD YouTekTM Graphene Instinct, came a week after the Croatian had claimed the trophy at his home event in Zagreb. Berdych lost serve only once during his Rotterdam week as he became the first Czech since fellow HEAD Racquet Rebel Radek Stepanek in 2006 to lift the Dutch title. "I've been serving well all week; it was the strongest part of my game. My mental strength also saved me. This shows me that my tennis is not based on just one factor. I had a good all-round performance. I'm now hoping to make this season a really good one. I'm happy with how I performed here. I thought of the final as just another match. You need to approach every match the same, every single time. That's the way I try to do. I made a game plan and went for it."

In Memphis, Karlovic, who recommends the HEAD YouTekTM IG Extreme, fired 20 aces but could not get past Kei Nishikori 6-4, 7-6(0). Until the final, the Croatian had held 42 service games over four matches. "It was a good week for me," said the HEAD finalist. "I'm really happy with the way I played. I hope I will continue like this and by the end of the year get into the Top 40."

In Doha, China's Peng Shuai, who endorses the HEAD YouTekTM IG Extreme, rose to No. 1 in the WTA doubles ranking. Peng and partner Hsieh Su-Wei wrapped up the biggest week of their partnership, winning the title 6-4, 6-0 over Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik. Peng's team has now won 10 titles from 10 finals - including Wimbledon last summer. "Hopefully we'll have more finals!" said Peng "It was a great week for us. We played some very good teams this week, especially today in the final, and we're really happy to win this title. Getting to No.1 is a great and amazing moment for me and I hope to share it with them now. I'm going to go home tomorrow and will celebrate with everyone there."
