SEC approves the Brown & Sharpe proxy statement

SEC approves the Brown & Sharpe proxy statement SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) has approved the proxy statement that Brown & Sharpe has filed. The Proxy statement will be the basis for a decision regarding Hexagons acquisition of Brown & Shapes metrology business. The Annual General Meeting is planned to take place on the 27th of April in the morning (Eastern Standard Time). Since the board of directors expects to have a majority of Brown & Sharpe's shareholders being positive to the transaction Hexagon is planning to close the deal on the same day. Hexagon will as a consequence consolidate Brown & Sharpe as of May 1st 2001.
