Yesterday’s Annual General Meeting in HiQ International AB elected Gunnel Duveblad as the new chair of the company’s Board of Directors. Gunnel Duveblad has been a member of the board of HiQ since 2007. She succeeds Anders Ljungh who, after 13 years as HiQ chairman, chose not to stand for re-election.

“I would like to thank Anders Ljungh for the exceptionally good job he has done. We have worked together for many years and he has been a key figure behind the successful rise of HiQ. I am also delighted to welcome Gunnel Duveblad in her new role. I have great confidence in Gunnel and am looking forward to continuing to work closely with her,” says Lars Stugemo, CEO and President of HiQ.

Gunnel Duveblad has many years’ experience of working in the IT consulting industry and has held senior positions in both the Nordic and European operations of EDS and IBM. Today Gunnel chairs the boards of, for example, Team Olivia AB, Global Scanning A/S and the Ruter Dam Foundation that promotes female leadership. She is also a director of PostNord, Dustin and Sweco.

“I feel proud and honoured to be entrusted with this new position. I have had the privilege of working with HiQ for many years and I now look forward to becoming even more intensively involved in the company. What we have seen so far is only the start of countless opportunities that technology is opening up. I am convinced that HiQ co-workers, with their passion for what they do and their commitment to simplify everyday life, will continue to drive progress in innovation,” says Gunnel Duveblad.

When HiQ was established in 1995 the focus was on technology-heavy assignments in telecommunications and defence. As customer needs and digital technology have evolved, the company has broadened its scope. Today HiQ holds a leading position at every stage of the process that links technology, people and business. Assignments extend from R&D to digital technology and back again, with HiQ delivering both technology-intensive services and those relating to strategic planning, design and market communication.

“HiQ is an impressive organisation with a formidable breadth; that breadth is essential now that digital technology is impacting on every field in all industries. Technology should be used to create value, solve problems and simplify things for people – and that is precisely what HiQ stands for,” Gunnel Duveblad concludes.

The HiQ Board of Directors comprises Gunnel Duveblad, Ken Gerhardsen, Ulrika Hagdahl, Erik Hallberg, Johanna Fagrell Köhler, Raimo Lind and Lars Stugemo.
