HiQ receives continued confidence to help the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) with the development of systems for automatic data capture (ADF) based on passive and active RFID. RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is a technology for reading information at a distance by using RFID tags.

During 2013, the Swedish Armed Forces Logistics (FMLOG) are performing tests and trials with passive RFID, which means labelling soldiers’ equipment with passive RFID tags to streamline check-in and check-out as well as inventory at the Swedish Armed Forces service centre. HiQ’s assignment is to support the tests and trials and, following a decision, to support a wide implementation.

”We are passionate about simplifying and experts on advanced technology. In the collaboration with FMV, both parts are in focus. We are proud to contribute to a system that so clearly simplifies and creates results within the Swedish Armed Forces,” says Lars Stugemo, President and CEO at HiQ.

During the year, FMV has also delivered a system for goods tracking based on active RFID to the Swedish Armed Forces. The system is developed for trailing and tracking goods both nationally and at international actions. HiQ has helped FMV with the development of the system since 2005 and is given continued confidence to support the authority.

“We are specialists on communication solutions, much thanks to our experience from the telecom sector. It’s especially exciting to help FMV with the creation of solutions that make Sweden one of the world’s leading nations in the area of automated tracking,” says HiQ’s Anders Nilsson.
