Tele2’s sponsorship of Tele2 Arena is nominated for the prestigious award “Gyllene Hjulet” (The Golden Wheel) in the category “Sponsorship of the year”. HiQ has been a partner to Tele2 and has developed an innovative communications solution that makes it easier for both visitors and staff to have a more interactive experience.

HiQ has vast experience from developing technical solutions connected to events. HiQ was given the assignment to implement communications solutions in order to give the audience in Tele2 Arena more profound information about the events trough a cluster of screens in the arena.

“The event sector is developing in a really cool way right now, with organisers and arenas quickly adapting to new conditions with mobility and the digitisation of society as incentives,” says Magnus Gudéhn at HiQ.

The “Big Brain” solution that HiQ has developed for Tele2 aims to gather and consolidate various information flows from, for example, social media, live statistics from events as well as weather information. The purpose is that the live experience at the arena should be more complete than the experience of a viewer following the event from home.

“For us, it has been important to not only put our name on Tele2 Arena, but to create a visitor experience in which our presence is relevant. In that work, the collaboration with HiQ has been important,” says Oscar Klingensjö, Head of events and sponsorships at Tele2 Sweden.

“We’re proud and happy to be nominated for this fine award together with Tele2. The technology in the project has been a decisive factor in the building of a modern world-class arena,” Lars Stugemo at HiQ concludes.

The winners are announced tonight, 26 March.

The nomination:

A world-class arena – Tele2 Sverige AB, Story design studio, PS Communication, Kurppa Hosk, North Kingdom, HiQ, Spotlight PR & Karlsson Svensson. A world-class arena is the story of how a sales-driven company chooses not to sell a product, talk offers, campaigns or use their logo as wallpaper. On the contrary, it’s the story about putting the visitor in focus, enhancing the arena experience and being a world-class host.  With new ideas, such as the 100 screens in which the audience in the arena can follow live statistics, and the new Tele2 Arena application with live video functionality, Tele2 wanted to help the visitors to get as much as possible out of their visit to the arena. Thanks to the collaboration with the Arena’s operations company and Tele2, the Tele2 Arena has the world’s best arena network. One example is from Avicii’s concert: over four times more data was uploaded in the mobile network in Tele2 Arena than in the entire Stockholm area. Surveys have shown that the people who visit the arena experience that Tele2 Arena gives more value for money, that Tele2 has better coverage and that they care more about their customers.
