For Immediate Release

The Partnership at Drugfree.org today announced that their new campaign, The Hope Share (thehopeshare.drugfree.org), is bringing its inspiring personal stories of the struggle against addiction and substance abuse to the largest and most powerful media venue in the world, Times Square, NY.

The campaign is also an incredible example of collaboration across the advertising, media and marketing community in helping this national nonprofit create and implement this massive and important project at no cost.

“We are completely blown away and humbled by the enormous contribution of resources, creativity and time from all of our partners who came together to create and get exposure for this transformative campaign,” said Jack Irving, SVP, Media Director at The Partnership at Drugfree.org. “We are so proud to have The Hope Share featured in our own hometown, New York City’s Times Square, and feel privileged to have collaborated with some of the most creative and generous people that The Partnership at Drugfree.org has been fortunate enough to work with.”

Substance abuse and drug addiction have long been clouded by stigma and shame, and those who suffer in silence with this disease have done so for too long. The Hope Share project recognizes the very meaningful impact that can be made through the simple but powerful act of sharing our personal stories—our battles and triumphs over substance abuse.

The Hope Share gives people struggling with addiction and substance abuse a high profile platform and a very caring environment in which to share their stories. Within this community of support, love and compassion these lives of struggle and achievement give much needed hope and inspiration to others to keep working on their recovery.

The Hope Share already has more than 500 candid, beautiful stories posted online and is growing stronger every day. The project in Times Square takes these powerful stories and shares them with millions of people via six of the most prominent digital Spectaculars in the world.

The Partnership at Drugfree.org has long been known for its unwavering dedication to eradicate the stigma and help people overcome addiction and substance abuse. This is perhaps their widest and most collaborative effort to date, bringing together many of the biggest names in advertising, media and marketing.

The list of partners is as long as it is impressive and all worked on a pro bono basis to bring this dream to life. J. Walter Thompson created the amazing work, Horizon Media secured the donated ad space, the production partners were Hungry Man Productions, Amber Music, Ballistic, BlueRock NY, The Mill NY and Sarofsky Corp, and the impactful Spectaculars were donated by Clear Channel Spectacolor, ABC, Thompson Reuters and CBS Outdoor. The campaign was also the directorial debut of Jess Gonchor, a creative force known for his Production Design on movies such as True Grit, No Country for Old Men and The Devil Wears Prada.

The campaign is also supported through a significant amount of pro-bono media, including national and local television and radio, print publications, digital display, social media and outdoor opportunities via cinema, taxi screens, malls, offices, and 65+ digital bulletins around the country.
