Hufvudstaden is due to commence construction of an additional 2,600 square metres of office space at the Skären 9 property in Bibliotekstan in Stockholm. The two-storey extension offers a magnificent view of Norrmalmstorg and the bay of Nybroviken. There will also be comprehensive refurbishment of existing floor space and a complete upgrade of the technical systems.

The renovated property will be approximately 12,500 square metres in size, comprising 10,700 square metres of office space and 1,800 square metres of retail space. The project will commence during the first quarter of 2019, and is expected to take two years to complete. Following completion, the property will house state-of-the-art office and retail premises in a prime location.

Hufvudstaden has signed a long-term lease with the law firm Advokatfirman Vinge, which is already a tenant in the property. The lease covers approximately 7,800 square metres, representing 75% of the office space. Vinge will move into offices nearby located at Stureplan until work is completed in the beginning of 2021.

Skären 9 has been owned by Hufvudstaden since 1917. The current building was constructed in 1984, and Vinge has been a tenant ever since. The lease was expanded in 1999 following construction of an extension in the courtyard area.

Hufvudstaden’s aim is to offer successful retail and office tenants attractive, city centre premises in Stockholm and Gothenburg. Advokatfirman Vinge has been a Hufvudstaden tenant in both Stockholm and Gothenburg for a long time, and we are very proud that we can satisfy the needs of one of our most loyal tenants by providing ultramodern offices in one of the very best locations in Stockholm,” says Ivo Stopner, CEO at Hufvudstaden.

“As a leading full-service commercial law firm, it is important for Vinge to have premises that are designed to meet current and future needs. They should support us in our work, help us to meet the challenges facing our clients optimally, be centrally located, and enhance job satisfaction among our staff. Having new premises at our current address is the ideal solution and that is what we have achieved. We are looking forward to working with Hufvudstaden to create an office environment in which we can continue to work and grow, says Maria-Pia Hope, CEO at Advokatfirman Vinge.
