Preliminary figures put December 2006 combined sales for ICA retailers in Sweden at SEK 8,518 million, including VAT, up SEK 443 million or 5.5 percent compared to the same month last year. The increase for comparable units was 3.9 percent.

Since the beginning of the year, sales including VAT have risen by 7.0 percent to SEK 86,593 million. For comparable units, the increase for the same period was 5.4 percent.

Breakdown of December sales for ICA stores in Sweden:

Maxi ICA Stormarknad stores reported an increase in sales of 11.3 percent to SEK 2,195 million. The increase for comparable units was 3.7 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 13.9 percent to SEK 19,444 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 5.2 percent.

ICA Kvantum stores reported an increase in sales of 4.2 percent to SEK 2,319 million. The increase for comparable units was 4.1 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 7.3 percent to SEK 23,202 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 6.0 percent.

ICA Supermarket stores reported an increase in sales of 3.5 percent to SEK 2,822 million. The increase for comparable units was 3.9 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 4.3 percent to SEK 30,539 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 5.0 percent.

ICA Nära stores reported an increase in sales of 2.8 percent to SEK 1,182 million. The increase for comparable units was 3.8 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 3.9 percent to SEK 13,408 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 5.2 percent.
