The Global State of Democracy is a biennial publication that assesses the state of democracy around the world, based on data from newly developed Global State of Democracy indices. The publication includes an overview of global and regional democracy trends, current challenges, as well as recommendations for policy makers and democracy practitioners. The publication’s first edition focuses on ‘Exploring Democracy’s Resilience’ and analyses a set of key challenges to democracy and the enabling conditions for its resilience.
The event will be attended by representatives from Swedish civil society – with contributions from Margot Wallström, Jan Eliasson and our Secretary-General Yves Leterme, among others.
