Ideagen commended for their use of AIM to achieve strategic growth goals

INFORMATION management software developers Ideagen has won ‘Best Use of AIM’ at the 20th anniversary of the ‘AIM Awards’ sponsored by PWC.

The company, which is headquartered in Matlock, Derbyshire, but which has premises all across the UK and abroad including offices in the US and Dubai, fought off competition from several companies including Finsbury Food Group plc, First Derivatives plc and Palace Capital to win.

Ideagen’s strong organic growth and strategic acquisitions – most notably with the purchase of Scottish Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) software developers Gael Ltd earlier this year – helped sway the judges’ decision.

David Hornsby, Ideagen’s CEO, said he was delighted with the achievement, adding: “We are absolutely delighted to have been nominated for this award and so to actually win is testament how far we have come as an organisation and how AIM has helped us achieve our strategic goals.

“The ‘Best Use of AIM’ award recognises companies that regards its arrival on AIM as the beginning of a journey. To be recognised with this award signifies the exciting times ahead for everyone involved in the company.”

The Aim Awards celebrated its 20th anniversary with a lavish ceremony at Old Billingsgate in London on Thursday, October 8th. Sponsored by Winterflood Securities, the ‘Best Use of AIMS’ category was arguably the hardest to predict, with strong competition from the other nominated companies.

However, Ideagen’s steady organic growth increase and the key acquisition of Gael, which doubled annualised revenues, saw the company commended for its best use of AIM.

This year’s awards ceremony hosted more than 1,000 representatives of AIM quoted companies, NOMADS (nominated advisers), brokers, accountants, lawyers and other corporate partners, making it the largest AIM gathering in the City.

David Snell, PwC partner, said: “AIM is 20 years old, and in its relatively short life it has become an important platform for young companies to raise the money they need for expansion. It is also incredibly diverse. Over 100 countries in the world are home to the central operations of at least one AIM company.

"With the focus so often on AIM companies in the spotlight for the wrong reasons, these Awards showcase the hugely successful companies which AIM has helped to achieve their strategic goals.”
