AL TAIR and DJANKA DES FORGES best Purebred Arabian racehorses 2014     [edit]

The International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities (IFAHR) has named AL TAIR and DJANKA DES FORGES the highest rated Arabian racehorses of 2014 with a joint rating of 124.

The joint top rated Arabian race horses for 2014 are the winner of the Qatar Arabian World Cup in Paris who was also an emphatic winner of the Group 1 Hatta International, DJAINKA DES FORGES (rated 124) and AL TAIR (also rated 124) who finished second in the Qatar Arabian World Cup conceding weight to the winner.

UK-bred Al Tair (by Amer)  is owned by HH Sheikh Abdullah Bin Khalifa Al Thani and is trained by Alban De Mieulle. DJAINKA DES FORGES is born in France, and owned by Sh. Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Thani in Qatar. She is trained by Julian Smart.

In total 66 horses achieved a rating of 110 or more in 2014 as opposed to 64 in 2013.

The top rated 3yo for 2014 was the unbeaten AL MOUWAFFAK with a rating of 116 achieved in the Qatar Arabian Trophy des Poulains.

17 3yos were allocated a rating of 105 or more in 2014 as opposed to 21 in 2013.

For the first time this year the Supervisory Committee have identified the race or races where the horse concerned is considered to have achieved its highest rating performance.

Note: The Committee only consider horses which have run in IFAHR Pattern Races (Group PA and Listed PA during the period under review - 1st December 2013 until 2nd November 2014).
