Australian engineering contractor to gain competitive advantage with IFS Applications that will pay back the cost of implementation within 12 months

IFS, the global enterprise applications company, today announced that fast-growing New South Wales-based civil engineering contractor, JK Williams, will implement IFS Applications™ 9 to enable real-time business decision-making, reduce costs, and increase its competitive advantage.

JK Williams will implement IFS Applications as an integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution for financials and reporting, project management, asset management, human resources and customer relationship management (CRM).

By replacing its existing system with a modern, easy-to-use ERP solution that is easily configured to present the right information to different users on whatever device they use, JK Williams will be able to capture and act on business information in real time.

“With IFS we can manage our business more accurately to improve the utilization of our people and assets and reduce our material costs,” said Leigh Hartog, managing director at JK Williams. “We believe we can make significant savings and better manage our growth. That will give us a competitive advantage and pay back the cost of implementation within 12 months.”

After an extensive, yearlong evaluation of competing ERP solutions, JK Williams selected IFS because of IFS Lobby, the solution’s configurable and role-based dashboard environment, and IFS Streams, the dynamic notification system. Another key consideration was IFS’s proven track record of delivering successful implementations.

Hartog added, “IFS Lobby and IFS Streams let you configure what information and alerts people get on their devices. We thought that was very impressive and better than the competition. Project managers can enter data from iPads on site and everyone can input their time cards via iPhones to give us real-time visibility of our projects. We can make decisions to do things differently, not wait until the end of the month when the numbers roll in.”

IFS Australia and New Zealand managing director Rob Stummer said, “JK Williams is one of the first Australian companies to implement IFS Applications 9, which was launched earlier this year, with the configurable IFS Lobby. Having a modern and agile ERP solution that can run on whatever device its staff use makes the solution easy to implement, easy to use, and easy to adapt to a changing business environment.”

The civil construction and infrastructure industry is an IFS targeted vertical market. Australian and international customers include Alliance Contracting, Brierty, Brookfield Multiplex, Burton Contractors, Georgiou, Pindan Asset Management, Contiga, Graham, Hertel, Debut Services, Fabcon, Babcock Group, Agility Group, Rosenberg WorleyParsons, Apply Sørco, Heerema Fabrication Group, Clancy Docwra, Damen Shipyards, and Eltel Networks.
