Impact Handling has used its all-makes expertise to secure a sole supplier servicing agreement with Leeds-based Q8Oils, to maintain its busy 16-strong fleet of materials handling equipment in optimum condition.

Q8Oils awarded the contract to Impact Handling following a comprehensive review of its maintenance requirements, selecting the company’s Doncaster depot for its fast response times, quality of performance and the ability to combine service support with the provision of additional machines on short term hire.

The customer’s fleet of reach trucks, counterbalance forklifts and power pallet trucks are used for a variety of demanding roles around Q8Oils ISO 9001:2008-accredited blending plant located to the east of Leeds. This includes assisting in the blending operation, which is capable of producing more than 60 million litres of lubricants a year, to despatching stock.

Q8Oils’ Purchasing Co-ordinator, Steve Haigh, says: “Impact Handling impressed us with its service offering, and has already proven they can deliver on their promise to maintain our equipment to the highest standards. We recognise that expert scheduled and preventative maintenance will help our machines to last longer, perform better and be less likely to suffer unexpected downtime. Knowing we can rely on the team at Impact Handling takes a huge weight off my mind.”

Impact Handling’s team of 200 mobile engineers provide 24/7 support to materials handling fleets, guaranteeing to respond to emergency call-outs within a four hour window – but averaging response times of less than two hours. The team supports all makes of materials handling equipment, with service vans stocked with the most commonly required lines of replacement parts.

Q8Oils also has full access to Impact Handling’s extensive short-term hire fleet, allowing the customer to bolster its own fleet at peak periods, with quality machines which can be delivered to site quickly and efficiently. The customer is currently hiring four additional 2.5 tonne counterbalance forklifts.

Kuwait Petroleum International Lubricants (UK) Ltd, operating under the Q8Oils brand, is one of the world’s leading producers of finished lubricants, base oils, process oils, extracts and waxes. The Leeds facility blends more than 600 types of lubricants and coolants for the automotive, industrial, metalworking and power generation sectors. These are supplied to customers throughout the UK and Ireland, and exported around the globe.
