Jackson Family Wines today announced Master Sommelier Jennifer Huether will join the international team of the family-owned luxury wine company this summer. Huether will work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop and deepen relationships with key wine influencers in Canada while championing Jackson Family Wines’ diverse portfolio.

“I am extremely pleased that Jennifer is joining our International Team and bringing her wealth of knowledge and experience,” said Nick Bevan, executive vice president of international sales for Jackson Family Wines. “Her passion for the industry and relentless quest to learn, coupled with her ability to teach, make her the perfect ambassador to tell the stories of our world-class wines.”

As the first female Master Sommelier in Canada, Huether brings extensive hospitality and restaurant management expertise, including experience at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Toronto as well as crafting an award-winning wine program as head sommelier of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Ltd. In addition, Huether graduated ‘top of class’ at the International Sommelier Guild in 2000 and went on to gain the Diploma of Wine and Spirits from Wine & Spirit Education Trust in 2003. Huether is a board member for the Guild of Sommeliers and is an active teacher for the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers and the Court of Master Sommeliers, as well as a head judge for the Canadian Sommelier Competition. Huether passed the ever prestigious Court of Master Sommeliers (Americas) Master Sommelier Diploma Exam in February 2011.

“I’m honored to be joining such an acclaimed team of industry veterans. I look forward to collaborating with a diverse group of educators to promote the incredible portfolio of fine wines at JFW,” said Huether. “I’m especially excited to help the company share their story internationally and to help create new global opportunities.”

Huether will work across the distinguished wine collection from Jackson Family Wines, which includes more than 30 wineries in California, Oregon, France, Chile, Italy and Australia. She joins seven master sommeliers currently working as ambassadors and educators at Jackson Family Wines.
