John Woods Nurseries new launches at HTA National Plant Show

Mattocks® Rose Cherry Girl, Hydrangea Endless Summer® BloomStar, Physocarpus Amber Jubilee® ‘Jefam’ and Mattocks® rebrand 

John Woods Nurseries, the award-winning commercial grower and supplier of plants to retailers across the UK, has confirmed its participation at this year’s HTA National Plant Show at Stoneleigh Park, Coventry.

New product launches on the stand will include the award-winning Mattocks® Rose Cherry Girl, Physocarpus Amber Jubilee ‘Jefam’® and Hydrangea Endless Summer® BloomStar. John Woods Nurseries will also be previewing its relaunched Mattocks in-store branding materials.

Mattocks® Rose Cherry Girl (Korkosieb) is a floribunda rose from Kordes. Featuring soft red double blooms on sturdy stems, the rose has healthy disease resistant foliage. Its compact growth makes Rose Cherry Girl ideal for borders and patio pots.

Hydrangea Endless Summer® BloomStar, the latest addition to the John Woods Nurseries Endless Summer® collection of reblooming hydrangeas, produces blooms up to 12cm across in pink, purple or blue depending on the soil’s PH. BloomStar’s glossy dark green leaves are characterised by red petioles and red veins, making the plant stand out even before the flowers open.

Physocarpus Amber Jubilee ‘Jefam’® is a new opulifolius variety,  a seedling cross of ‘Diabolo’ x ‘Darts Gold’, selected by Rick Durand and Wilbert Ronald of Jeffries Nurseries, Canada. The foliage is a kaleidoscopic blend of colours and the new growth takes on shades of yellow and orange before maturing to lime-green and turning purple in autumn. John Woods Nurseries is the only UK licensed grower.

This plant was named in honour of the Queens visit to Manitoba, Canada in July 2010. This fully hardy plant is best in full sun. It is easy to care for and can be trimmed to shape in spring which will also improve foliage colour.
