Updates to the legal hold and collection features in Relativity provide better insight into hold compliance and oversight for legal and IT through regularly scheduled reports, and the ability to scout and collect from new data sources, including Microsoft Exchange

kCura, developers of the e-discovery software Relativity, today announced updates to Relativity Legal Hold and Relativity Collection. Enhancements include greater visibility into the status of legal holds and the ability to analyze and collect email directly from Microsoft Exchange.

Relativity Legal Hold

Legal Hold now offers users the ability to send regularly scheduled reports via email addresses to provide legal and IT professionals with greater visibility into the status of holds. For example, a legal hold administrator could receive recurring reports to monitor compliance across all of their holds, while corporate counsel can receive a periodic overview of all active holds.

Relativity Collection

Using Relativity Collection's unique scout feature, users can quickly and remotely analyze file names and other system metadata on a custodian’s computer, providing a complete picture of what’s available for collection—all from within Relativity. With the latest release, users can scout and collect from additional data sources, including Microsoft Exchange, whether deployed on-premises or as part of an Office 365 online environment.

Scout also now automatically detects mapped drives and their UNC paths—providing a clear picture of all of the data sources a custodian can access, and allowing for granular control over collections from network shares. Additionally, enhanced tracking of custodian data provides an inventory of a custodian's assets and a detailed collection history.

“Legal teams continue to look for more efficient ways to manage their internal hold processes and defensibly reduce the amount of data that flows through discovery,” said Andrew Sieja, president and CEO of kCura. “We’re excited that these updates to Relativity Legal Hold and Collection can better assist with these challenges.”
