Law Firm Selects Relativity for Comprehensive Processing and Analytics Capabilities

kCura, developers of the e-discovery software Relativity, today announced that Robinson+Cole has licensed Relativity. Ranked among the top 200 largest law firms in the United States, Robinson+Cole’s clients range from Fortune 500s to start-ups, as well as nonprofit and government organizations.

Relativity is a fully featured, web-based e-discovery platform that allows users to create and automate custom workflows, take advantage of a complete set of text analytics capabilities including computer-assisted review, and make use of fully integrated processing—so case teams can ingest data and begin review quickly without leaving the system.

“With Relativity’s processing, we can get our data into review right away. The speed to getting to the review stage is a tremendous advantage to us,” said Adam Anderson, litigation support specialist at Robinson+Cole. “We’ve processed 1.9 million records into Relativity, and got them ready to be reviewed in under three days. Through our previous workflows, this would have taken weeks.”

Because Robinson+Cole deals with a wide range of cases, they were looking for a platform that would further streamline the litigation support process, while offering substantial customization for each unique role within the firm.

“Looking at the big picture value of Relativity, we see this as an all-in-one tool. Because we’re keeping data in the same platform throughout processing and review, our impact on storage is considerably lower,” said Fernando Monteleone, chief information officer at Robinson+Cole. “We’re now able to budget significantly less in our storage growth.”

Robinson+Cole also plans to implement a range of analytics capabilities—such as email threading and detection of near-duplicate documents—as their case sizes grow. “We’re looking forward to taking full advantage of Relativity Analytics, so our lawyers can identify relevant documents to focus their energy on right away,” said Anderson.

“We’re excited that Robisnon+Cole has chosen Relativity, and that it’s having a direct and positive impact on their costs and efficiency,” said Andrew Sieja, president and CEO of kCura. “We look forward to working closely with them to ensure a great e-discovery experience for their diverse client base.”
